Mark Ruffalo has been playing the MCU's Jade Giant since 2012's The Avengers, but it sounds like the actor is ready to pass the "banner" to Tatiana Maslany when she transforms into She-Hulk on Disney+.

While Edward Norton was the first actor to play Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mark Ruffalo is responsible for crafting The Hulk fans have come to love in this shared world. After playing the Jade Giant for the first time in 2012's The Avengers, the actor has since made countless cameos and taken on a number of leading roles, albeit never in his own solo project.

Bruce's cousin, Jennifer Walters, will take centre stage in the She-Hulk TV series coming to Disney+ later this year, and Ruffalo has now talked about the show being a passing of the torch banner.

"Tatiana Maslany is frickin' legendary as the She-Hulk," Ruffalo promises in the video below. "I'm passing the banner onto her. There are some really good, funny, cool, long, long scenes between Professor and her. We've never really seen the Hulk interact with people the way he does in that show. It'll be really interesting."

Much to the surprise of fans, Professor Hulk had reverted to his human form for that surprise appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but he's Hulked Out again in She-Hulk and seemingly healed his arm after using the Infinity Gauntlet. Whether Ruffalo's time as this character is nearing its end remains to be seen, but we're anticipating Jen quickly joining the ranks of The Avengers!

She-Hulk is expected to arrive on Disney+ later this year.

Passing the Banner isn't necessary, there is room for both Hulks and more.

@MarvelZombie616 - It's a pun, literally. He's not leaving the role.

So he's still Professor Hulk in this? I don't know what I expected, but I really want him to change back to a badass Hulk.

The Hulk and Thor are my two favourite comic book characters.

Now they are more than likely going to replace them with two female versions.

Why can't we have both,I would except that over losing the originals.

@marvel72 - well he is getting older and isn’t getting a solo project. Probably wants to do other films.

@TheSuperMex - Recast the role then,no need to lose Banner Hulk.

Let's have a World War Hulk or Maestro movie.

Why can’t we have both Hulks in the MCU? Why is everyone assuming She-Hulk is replacing Hulk? That isn’t what happens in the comics.. not really, lol

The thing I really want to know is if he's still carrying that withered arm around in a sling. Thought the Hulk had amazing healing & regenerative abilities too?

Wake me up when Savage Hulk returns, not the pacified Prof Hulk in arm sling.

The problem with the Hulk is it's hard to write a decent movie with him in the lead. They've tried twice. (Anybody remember the 2003 movie with Eric Bana?) The Edward Norton one was pretty good but they ditched it in favor of a new MCU with Mark Ruffalo. And I can't remember if they made reference to the 2008 movie at all when Ruffalo was introduced. Did they? Anyway, the Hulk is a hard nut to crack. Which is why he hasn't had his own solo movie in the proper MCU. I feel like it would have already happened if they found the "secret Hulk sauce" in making a really good Hulk movie.

@BecauseICare - they literally bring up how he destroyed Harlem like he did in the 2008 movie is Avengers. As well as trying to commit suicide like in the deleted scene of the 2008 movie. The 2008 movie is canon. Tony Stark and Shield show up in the movie.
