WHAT IF...? Concept Art Reveals Ryan Meinerding's Amazing Takes On Captain Carter And Infinity Ultron

Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding has shared a very early Captain Carter design and his take on Infinity Ultron, revealing just how much concept art influenced the animated series.

We've grown accustomed to seeing Ryan Meinerding's incredible concept art for a whole host of Marvel Studios movies and TV shows, but his work for What If...? really highlights his immense talent.

The Disney+ series was the studio's first animated project, and Meinerding completely adapted his style in order to create a look for the show we see started with his designs. As the Head of Visual Development explains, "I have other images that are approved designs for [Captain Carter], but this is one of the images I did to get the style of the show approved."

It's a little mind-blowing to see how the artist goes from something like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (which is very much grounded in reality) to What If...? and not miss a step. It's no wonder he's such a pivotal part of that Marvel Studios family, and we're hoping he shares more of his art soon.

In the meantime, this Captain Carter piece is accompanied by Meinerding's take on Infinity Ultron.

One episode I would like to see is "What if Malekith engulfed the universe in Darkness" and have it where the moment he unleashes the Aether and wins, Dormammu escapes the Dark Dimension and a war breaks out for total supremacy with the Ancient One and the surviving Avengers uniting as a resistance.
