The wait between Season 2 and Season 3 of Netflix's Stranger Things was longer than usual which led many to believe we would see it repeated until the writers took to twitter with another cryptic tease.

Fans of The Duffer Brothers' Netflix series Stranger Things will be thrilled to learn that it seems that the horror/mystery series will be returning sooner than expected. Normally people would expect a solid year in between seasons of shows, but sometimes that changes with streaming services and actors' schedules. The last two seasons of the series saw a large gap in between them, but if a new tweet is to be believed, that isn't something that should be a worry this year.

A 2021 release was initially expected for Stranger Things Season 4 which would provide the same amount of time the last two seasons needed after Season 3 before diving back into that world and unpacking everything that was left behind - including the "apparent" death of Hopper and Eleven and Mike being split up. With an after-credit tease showing that the Russians have a prisoner, its a good thing that fans have less of a wait to look forward to.

Check out the following tweet from the Stranger Writers - also known as The Duffer Brother - which seemingly confirms this year's release of the popular Netflix series.

Matching the same message teased in September of 2019, "we're not in Hawkins anymore" inside of a large 2020 certainly seems to point to one thing - the release of Stranger Things Season 4 during this year. This would be much less of a wait that what fans were put through between the last two seasons, and once a set date is confirmed, many people will be glad to know the return to Hawkins is sooner than later.

In the meantime, if you aren't caught up you can check out the trailer for Stranger Things Season 3 and be sure to sound off in the comments below!

When the town's threatened by enemies - both old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. One summer can change everything.

Stranger Things is currently streaming on Netflix.

Hopefully we will see the return of a living Hopper. Fairly confident we will.

Unfortunately I don't think this means anything at all because it's just a meme.

They should make it a 3 or 5 year gap, because the kids in the cast all went through HUGE growth spurts and look totally different now.
