Yesterday, the review embargo for Andor finally lifted (many critics first watched the show back in July), giving us our best idea yet about what to expect from the latest Star Wars TV series to head to Disney+. You can read our roundup by clicking here, but with just over 200 verdicts counted, we now have a Rotten Tomatoes score (via SFFGazette.com) for the show.
It currently sits at 87% based on 218 reviews. 191 of those were deemed "Fresh," with the other 27 "Rotten." This is a great start for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel and it's fair to call the show a critical hit.
Ultimately, it will be down to viewers to decide whether this is a series they want to watch. Regardless of those all-important streaming numbers, however, Lucasfilm is already moving forward with a second season of Andor that begins shooting this November. Seeing a score like this, though, is bound to increase interest in Cassian Andor's backstory.
To coincide with the premiere, Lucasfilm also recently released an exciting new TV spot and a handy recap. Both tie Andor into events from the Star Wars movies, reminding fans that this tale is set during a crucial time in this Galaxy Far, Far Away's history.
