That dude on Twitter was calling McCarthy a walking-talking fat joke. I think it's good Feig came to the defense of one of his stars. Like when a quarterback gets a cheap shot and the linemen retaliate out of principle. If you don't do it you look like a bitch.

If this movie is a success, everyone will say it's because of the women cast.

If this movie fails, everyone will say it's because people are sexist and also blaming all the male centered superhero films.

It's quite simple why this film can go [frick] itself.

You're rebooting a property that didn't need rebooting and doing it in a way you are freeing yourself from blame.

All you had to do was have one of the lead females be Egon's daughter and connect it to the original films and honoring Ramis while still passing the torch to new audiences.

Instead you are using this "all female" cast as a fail-proof way of saying that if the film is bad it's because people are sexist. Because it's not like this year we saw everyone praising a badass female in a film series centered around a male protagonist who came off more badass than our hero.

See, the problem is that's it's Women Ghostbusters, the problem is they could've took he opportunity to create new and original characters in their own paranormal environment that wasn't based off a classic, thus its already doomed to be hated because people don't want to see a classic like Ghostbusters remade.

I think all of the negativity associated with this film, the fans really being against it and this unprofessional behavior from the director, I think this film will fail like another 80s reboot did, Vacation. I truly believe that the film will fail and questions will be raised...like if certain things SHOULD be rebooted...I'm afraid that with Ghostbusters being rebooted then Back to the future is next....and then Ferris Bueller and so on...I'm afraid





A REALLY IMPORTANT POINT: There's something about so blatantly doing a "woman version" that feels kind of reductive, i.e. the fact that we even need to think of things as "women versions" in the first place ...What we need are more female stars, more female writers, and more female directors given the opportunity to make original, big-budget projects. And what we maybe don't need are any more "Ghostbusters," lady-led or otherwise.

He could've did something original with this lady ensemble instead of piggybacking off of an old franchise. Women in Hollywood need to develop new and original content that associated with them. More female original characters. We need more Buffys, Furiosas and Rita Vrataskis

I have no problem with a female cast, but this cast. I just don't find these ladies funny. Another thing he almost comes off as a little Josh Trankish and that isn't something you want.
