Power Rangers Reboot movie ideas

So now days, there are studios that are making billions of dollars just from doing superhero movies. LionsGate did pretty well with franchises such as The Hunger Games, but they want their own superhero property. And in a way, Power Rangers are a team of superheroes, only instead of being based on a comic book, they are based on a TV-show.

I actually wanted to do this few weeks back, but then the news broke, and I got really excited about it all. I used to love the Power Rangers as a kid, and I think the Power Rangers is something that kids, teenagers and ever grown up can like.

I believe that if LionsGate reboot the Power Rangers, and give a more superhero feel to it, they can easily create a new money making franchise.

LionsGate should treat the reboot as if it’s like The Avengers, and show us a team of young heroes who get and ancient power that makes them the Power Rangers, the protectors of the Earth.

I want a PG-13 movie, it can be little more serious and less cheesy, but it still has to be fun and cool, or the general audience will pass on the movie, and there goes a potential franchise.

I wouldn’t do a full fan casting, but LionsGate should use some familiar faces to bring some boost to the movie. I wouldn’t cast Jennifer Lawrence, since you can’t really have her in every movie, but new faces like: Liam Hemsworth, Shailene Woodley, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie and few others could give a nice boost to the movie. They are good actors, and there are pretty hot now.

Anyway, here is my idea for the movie, and for the franchise and few other things.

So, there is an evil empire out there I space. For a fan service, the main bad guy could be Lord Zedd or maybe have him in the 2nd movie, and have Rita Repulsa as a powerful yet evil ruler of the evil empire.

The empire goes to attack a planet where Zordon is hiding. Zordon isn’t stuck in some stupid aquarium, he has a body, and he is more like a space wizard. But Zodron lost a lot of his power after trying to stop the empire, and his only protector is the Red Ranger (who isn’t really a Ranger yet, he doesn’t have the Power Ranger outfit or powers). He is an alien (that looks like a human), and he is the last surviving member of the army of Eltar. The Red Ranger is a bad-ass young solider, that has lost everything because of the evil empire.

The Red Ranger manages to fight off the empire’s soldiers, and takes Zordon from the planet.  Zordon then reviles that they must go to Earth, there, millions of years ago, he had hidden an ancient power, the force of the legendry Power Rangers.

They arrive on Earth, but the human military tries to capture them. But the Red Ranger and Zordon eventually meet other 4 Rangers (who are still not Power Rangers, just normal humans with a destiny).

The team finds the ancient power in a temple in South America, and they become the Power Rangers. Of course there is an adventure until they find the ancient power. I don’t want the Rangers to be characters with no depth, I want every Ranger in the team to be a person not some typecast character, and this is the only way the audience will connect to each of them.

The Power Rangers comes together to fight the evil empire in an epic battle. Eventually the famous Zords come in play, and we get something that is just as cool like that epic battle in Pacific Rim. The Power Rangers become the new superheroes of the world and everyone is happy.

In the post-credits scene, we see a young alien that looks little like the Red Rangers becoming the evil Green Ranger. This is the Red Ranger’s younger brother, who “died” few years back, and now he is part of the dark side…

The 2nd movie will be based on the amazing “Evil Green Ranger Sage” from the first season, adding a little Winter Solider spin to it.

Now Of course my ideas for the movie are just a small putch, and it needs a reall screen writer to make a good and soild script, and every movie needs a good director. But I belive that if LionsGate makes a good movie, and puts a very smart marketing campaign, they can make lots of money. If a movie like the first Transformers did over 700 milion dollers, why souldn't the Power Rangers not?

And if the first movie makes it in the box office, they can make more movies, new TV-shows, new comic books, lots of toys, video games and more. This franchise is latterly selling itself, the only thing that LionsFate needs to do is to be smart about it and they can make a great and successful film franchise.

This movie does have a ton of potential. Giant robots, Giant monsters and bad ass on foot fight scenes.

Also the costume designs can be cool

Your costume ideas are good and you've stated everything that a Power Rangers film should have.

I'm eager to see a Power Ranger's film and to see how it's done.

If this turns out to be anything like the current show, I won't see it. To be honest if its anything like any of the shows I probably won't see it.I hope its more mature and less like a saturday morning show.

Not bad but we've seen these films way too many times. Back to the drawing board.

Well you also have to bring back Zordon and Alpha 5. And the first villain should be a revamped Rita Repulsa.

If it's going to work it's going to need the look and feel of Pacific Rim mixed with TASM2.
