Pitch Art: SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS Movie Characters As The Avengers

Conceptual artist Larry T. Quach has updated his blog with pitch art he created for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. In the film the main characters transform into superheroes and Quach illustrated them as The Avengers. It wasn't used.

In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, the main characters use a magical book to give themselves superpowers: SpongeBob becomes The Invincibubble, Patrick becomes Super-Awesomeness, Squidward becomes Sour Note, Mr. Krabs becomes Sir Pinch-a-Lot and Plankton becomes Plank-Ton.

They could've looked a lot different if producers had chosen to go with Larry T. Quach's designs instead. Back in 2012, when he was working for Rhythm and Hues he designed them as The Avengers: SpongeBob SquarePants as Captain America, Patrick Star as The Hulk, Squidward Tentacles as Thor, Mr. Krabs as Iron Man and Plankton as Loki.

I can see Spongebob as Cap. I can see Patrick as Hulk. I can kind of see Squidward as Thor.

But I don't see Plankton as Loki at all or Mr Krabs as Iron Man.

Also why isn't Sandy there?

I took my daughter yesterday to see it and I honestly didn't expect much but it was a fun movie. There were some "in" jokes for the adults and it kept my daughter thoroughly entertained. We watched it in 3D and IMHO it was worth it, they seemed to take full advantage, unlike most of the post converted blockbusters these last few years. The "superhero" portion of the movie is only about the last 10-15 minutes of the show and completely impressed me with how well they did their effects blending the CG characters with live action. It sounds crazy but some other movies could take lessons on their effects,(and apparently since I can't make a single post without something negative) I'm looking at you "new" Jurassic Park, how could you release a 60 second trailer and still have crappy looking CGI in almost every second of it.

So I took my little brother and sister to see the movie and it was actually incredibly entertaining and hilarious! It's like one of THE most random and crazy moviesI have ever seen. I recommend it!
