People went a bit crazy a few months ago when it was announced that Sony would be developing a hybrid CG-animated/live-action feature film featuring the Blue Blur. And that writers Evan Susser (The Zombie Solution) and Van Robichaux (Seth Rogen = Worst Person In The World) would be writing the script. We didn't get much information about the film until now. Van Robichaux had a recent facebook conversation with Sonic Stadium and said that we won't be getting many announcements till next year. But the film is aiming for a PG 13 rating.

What are your guys thoughts on this news? Are you happy that Sonics going to be aiming for a larger audience? Or do you think they should go more kid friendly? List off in the comments. If you want to read more about the initial announcement you can check it out right here. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/KingPatel/news/?a=101683

I am honestly more suprised that they went the cgi/live action hybrid like the smurf since Sonic is much more suited for an all animated enviorment so he can do all the crazy things he is known to do (which he will be not in live action). That it is PG13 not so much, since Sonic can be pretty "dark" (at least for a "kid game standard"...)

I don't even care about this movie in particular; however, it just continues the trend of pg13, dark/gritty/realistic, cgi bullshit, trendy mainstream flicks.

Can't we go back to, like, g-pg movies for kids/families, hard R/M for adults/mature audiences, and pg13 goes back to being not so, oh I don't know, invading every franchise as a safe and financially beneficial middle ground.

I can see why it would be PG-13, seeing Sonic dying under water would be scary for the kids.

@MelkaMelkaticox Umm..... The Sega Genesis was aimed towards Teens and college students. Kids AND teens. back in the 90s everyone was into being "Extreme" Teens in those days were just as much into "EXTREEEEME" as little kids were. Anybody who think that Sonic wasn't aimed at teens back in those days needs to take a look at the MTV special from 1994 when MTV in conjunction with SEGA hosted a Sonic and Knuckles tournamnet at the old Alcatraz prison island.

If it looks anything like the opening cutscenes from Unleashed, this movie could be great.
