It's very clear that Zack Snyder is in the driver's seat, in terms of defining the overarching story unfolding across the DC Extended Universe.  But just how much control does he have over the standalone films?  James Wan was asked this very question at this past weekend's WonderCon about his standalone Aquaman feature and gave an intriguing answer.

Henry Cavill Excited About JUSTICE LEAGUE And Working With Jason Momoa's AQUAMAN

"Well, I think the story that I would like to tell is still at the end of the day my story. And that’s what’s cool with Zack, is that he’s actually very respectful of that. He’s actually helping me out in some ways with certain things that he’s doing with his [films] so that I can have better groundwork with the standalone Aquaman story."

Wan's comments would seemingly indicate that, yes, there are concessions that he has to make in order to conform to the overarching direction the DCEU, however he's mostly telling a story of his own making.   Do you want an Aquaman film in the same tone and visual style as Snyder's Batman v Superman, or are you hoping for a completely diffrent style for Arthur Curry's solo feature?

Ugh. I know James is directing and helping writing this, but having Snyder's fingers in this scares me.
