RUMOR: AQUAMAN Director James Wan May Be Next In Line To Depart The DC Films Universe
Is the DC Films Universe facing a Crisis? According to a new report, there's an awful lot of chaos behind the scenes of Justice League, while James Wan could be about to move on from directing Aquaman.
Birth.Movies.Death have weighed in on Seth Grahame-Smith's decision to depart The Flash, and it sounds like a lot of big changes are currently happening behind the scenes at Warner Bros. in regards to their DC Comics adaptations. According to the site, they're now "at odds" with Zack Snyder over Justice League, and there has been, "Lots of fights between Snyder and the WB execs, and lots of pressure from Burbank on Snyder, who is shooting in London." Of course, seeing as that movie started shooting just weeks after the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, not many changes could be made at that stage, hence why there are now a lot of clashes as the studio looks to ensure they don't end up with another critical and commercial (to a lesser extent) disappointment.
However, particularly interesting is the news that Aquaman director James Wan could be the next filmmaker to part ways with the studio over "creative differences." According to the site, their sources tell them that "Wan is feeling a tremendous amount of trepidation about Aquaman...Aquaman needs Wan, and right now Wan is trying to decide if he needs that hassle." It's also mentioned that the movie could be delayed to iron out any kinks, but with Wan frequently commenting on his plans for the character, it would be genuinely shocking if he were to quit now. This is strictly a rumour for the time being anyway, but be sure to share your thoughts on this news in the comments section below.
