According To WME CEOs, Ben Affleck Has Already Written A BATMAN Script

In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes, and another Batman movie and based on this new report, it sounds like Affleck may have already finished the script!

When 2x Academy Award-winner Ben Affleck was first cast as Bruce Wayne, the Batman, in Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, many fans were up in arms with the casting choice. However, after watching him in action last week in the highly controversial and critically panned Zack Snyder-directed film, fans found some solace in his performance and were fairly unanimous in declaring him the best live-action Batman to ever grace the silver screen.

It's been rumored ever since Affleck signed on that a solo Batman movie, tentatively titled The Batman, was definitely in the works with Affleck collaborating with DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns on the script, but an expected release date and/or any details on the plot, outside of it being possibly based on the Batman: Under The Red Hood story arc, were few and far between.

The Hollywood Reporter, in an interview with Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell, the co-CEOs of William Morris Endeavor (WME), Affleck's talent agency, have learned that in addition to being signed on for two Justice League films, Affleck has already finished a script for an yet-to-be announced solo Batman feature: "He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape, there's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option." Whitesell later added that Affleck would also be reprising his role for a cameo in the David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad, which is due out this August.

So, what do you guys think? Excited? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

They're forgetting his appearance in Suicide Squad, so is he only confirmed for Justice League Part One?

@MarkJulian - Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Marvel actors does cameos, it doesn't count in the amount of movies in their contract, and if so, could it be so that he just sort of have a cameo and it works in similar way? ^o)

@MarkJulian - I'd assume so, Affleck has become as much a director as an actor. I can't see him holding himself down on a giant deal. I'd figure his Batman movie deal is different if he's scripting and directing.

@HappyHater - agreed, Snyderverse is akin to the Transformerverse and we, real DC fans do not need that crap

@Karmatron - Hilarious you say that, my friend and I were just talking about how the MCU is basically transformers, and MoS was the first CBM to try something different

@Karmatron - I'm a real DC fan. I've read tons of Batman comics, The New Teen Titans, Crisis on Infinite Earths, and just hundreds of DC Comics in general, and I say you're wrong. Michael Bay has probably never even seen a transformers cartoon. But Zack Snyder knows these characters inside and out, and he loves DC Comics more than any other Comic Book Movie Filmmaker has ever loved their property. You can tell because of the look of every single one of them. Of course, that's not enough. He needs to know how to use them, what story they should be in, etc. Sadly, he's had Goyer, a man who hates most of DC's characters as the guy to deliver the story to use the characters in. But with Goyer being pushed further and further to the sidelines, he'll have a better story to tell, and if he has a co-director, he'll really knock it out of the park. But the Snyderverse is not too much different from the actual DC Universe, and we'll see greater similarities as it moves forward. He's the perfect choice for producer. I can't wait for the rest of DC's movie slate, and Ben Affleck's Batman movie will fit nicely into it.
