Christian Bale Reveals Why He's Disappointed With His Take On 'Batman' In THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY

Would Christian Bale be up for a Batman v Batman movie? The actor also weighs in on why he feels he could have delivered a darker Dark Knight and how Heath Ledger's Joker ruined his plans for the character.

Yahoo Movies recently caught up with Christian Bale to talk about his time as Batman, and surprisingly, the actor really isn't all that happy with how things went for him in The Dark Knight Trilogy. "I didn’t quite manage what I hoped I would throughout the trilogy," he says in the video above. "Chris did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it.’"

It turns out that Bale was actually quite envious of what Heath Ledger managed to acheive when he came in and played The Joker, as he jokingly added: "Heath turned up, and just kind of completely ruined all my plans. Because I went, 'He’s so much more interesting than me and what I’m doing.’" The actor also goes on to talk more about why he wanted to play a much darker and twisted Batman as well as whether he has any interest in reprising the role of Batman (spoiler: he doesn't), so be sure to watch the video for his comments in full.

He's just trying to throw people off the scent that he's actually Bruce Wayne in Bvs and that Ben Affleck is Slade Wilson ;)

@Earthbound - I thought the fact that Affleck was signed to 3 Batman movies fixed the Slade Wilson theory.

Bale's Batman was a visual upgrade from the Batman from the 90's, but his Batman was too realistic. Who cares about a Batman that is battling inner demons? For quite some time fans have longed for the Batman that was the genius, resourceful bad ass that could go toe to toe with any foe and that's not what Bale's Batman gave us.
