I wanted to make one, but I don't have the time, patience or knowledge of HTML to do so. I believe it is a definite positive addition, I feel it gives the frequenters of the site more of a voice. Let's them share their ideas, knowledge, etc of the genre(s) sites they are creating. I've been to quite a few of them, and all in all, people are doing a bang up job at them. Plus I think it also could give us a look into things that CBM possibly misses in their delivery of articles. Way to go CBM. Well done.

Ion,
We've created it so that you really don't need to know html. AND you can always ask us questions directly from the contact link above.

I'm beginning to have a problem with every fan site posting things on the "what's new tab" of the web site's home page. I'm here to post replies but i hate having to go to the archives to do it especially when i know for a fact that no one else will reply if the post IS in the archives. Could the fan sites have they're own "what's new tab" aside from www.comicbookmovie.com's?

I've even seen some fan sites posting up rants about a subject we were already discussing but finding out that our actuall discution is now located on a post that has been down grated to be in the archives. They bump our discution to make the same exact one which gets REALLY frustrating. Can something be done about this? Like simply a separation of new postings from the actuall home page. There could be a big bright link called "fan sites" (just like superherohotties) where you have all of them to choose from with their own home page. It would be less agravating.

Shaman,
I know its a little free-form right now, but once we see how people are digging the concept, we'll be instituting some monitors to edit out the junk. Here is how it is supposed to work:

What's New Tab: Is for all the good stuff of any category that CBM editors post, and that they find from user posts. Only editors decide what goes on this because it is what is first seen on the main.

News: General default category for common posts and aggregated news. We will probably be deleting a lot of crap off this, but for now we're just seeing how users are getting into it.

Scoops: For the spoilers and rumors. If posters are submitting crap, it will be deleted off.

Features: For exclusive stuff and unique articles, if it doesn't fit--delete.

Editorial: For "opinion" articles, but same rules apply.

Previews and Reviews: You get the idea.

If anyone of your frequent posters with a fansite want to be on my list to contact when I need more monitors/editors, let me know. jim@comicbookmovie.com

Alrighty, i will concentrate on the "features" tab...
Shaman - 12/10/2008, 2:47 PM
Speaking of features, i've just parused it and normally, all your own articles(comicbookmovie) that you put on the "what's new" tab should be in the "features" tab but most of them aren't...
Shaman - 12/10/2008, 2:51 PM
Give it some time to get used to the new tabs separating articles

Tell you what, I'll make the CBM main a bit deeper, so you don't have to go into the archive as much. :)

As for the features, since we've separated all the articles that should get fleshed out soon to just the exclusive articles and things that are unique to CBM.
ComicBookMovie - 12/10/2008, 3:01 PM
Oh, we're also working on getting up an "email alert" when someone replies to your comments.

Would that make you happy?
ComicBookMovie - 12/10/2008, 3:06 PM
thats a great idea.
Rorschach01 - 12/10/2008, 3:20 PM
I will only be a viewer for now!! Good luck everyone!!

Spock - 12/10/2008, 6:32 PM
Hey everyone! I increased the number of headlines displayed in the tabs to 30. Hopefully that helps while we get some of the other features we're working on completed!
Nathan Best - 12/10/2008, 6:53 PM
That's amazing guys! Great work, i love your website!!! Thanks CBM! :))
Shaman - 12/11/2008, 8:29 AM
Agreed Shaman. This place is very well put together, thought out, and executed. Good work, and thanks again!
IonParallax - 12/11/2008, 5:35 PM
We do it all for you my little cheeky monkeys. Oh yeah, and we do make money from the banners. So, that's nice too. ;)
ComicBookMovie - 12/11/2008, 7:05 PM
CHA CHING!!! And when will we be able to make a penny?

Oh and i'm trying to put pictures in my freakin article but they won't up load even when the system shows that they are! How can i put pictures that work? They are JPG. And my article looks lame without them... sniff... sob.
Shaman - 12/12/2008, 7:46 AM
I've started my adsense account with google (how you can make money with the ads on your site as well) and have helped both Shaman and Rorschach with their picture problems. I will, however, need some assistance in the Ads department, since I haven't got the slightest CLUE about channels and what not.
IonParallax - 12/12/2008, 1:08 PM
Hope I can make it into the top 6. I really would like a copy of TDK on dvd. That would be sweet. Guess i'm going to have to get cracking on some more News related articles.
IonParallax - 12/12/2008, 1:11 PM
Yeah, it would be cool to have some info on Add sense :))
