SEASON 1 EPISODE 14, titled "Reckoning"

Description: Ra's al Ghul recruits all of the super villains Batman has captured to eliminate Batman in exchange for control of a piece of the city. The episode airs tonight on Toonami. Here are some stills to hold you over until tonight:

I have been hearing some confusion in the comments sections (in the Beware The Batman articles) about the series. Considering that I've been keeping close track of the show, I will try my best to answer some of the questions I've been hearing in the comments.

Wasn't the series cancelled?

No. After the first 11 episodes aired on DC Nation in late 2013, the show was unexpectedly by Cartoon Network. The network announced that the show was on hiatus and would not return until January. When January hit, the show was pushed back even further. Because Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series were cancelled not long before this, it became highly rumoured that the show would be cancelled. Instead, the series was moved to CN's late night Toonami block. New episodes are currently airing weekly on late Saturday nights.

Will the show get a second season?

Considering how long the show was put on hiatus and how quiet the network is being about the show, a second season is looking very unlikely.

Are all the episodes on Blu-Ray and DVD?

Only the first 13 episodes are on DVD/Blu-Ray. The last 13 episodes of the season will be released on September 30.

Why is it that some people have already seen unaired episodes?

Episodes have leaked onto the web via certain sites. Some episodes have been released early digitally and the entire season is available on Amazon UK. If I am not mistaken, I do believe certain episodes have aired early in some countries but I could be wrong.

Great show and I definitely agree that it's as good as Batman: The Animated Series. But I understand that it's hard for people to adjust to the new style of CG animation. It's hard to accept change.

I agree with ALmazing. That being said the show was good. I think the reason the show was canceled is because it used CGI animation. CGI animation costs more then traditional animation & it adds nothing. So why use that style. It has been said it cost 15 more million to make Green Lantern: The Animated Series then it did Young Justice. So why pay the extra cost. Who knows maybe not paying the extra money wouldn't have turned people away from the show. Plus it would have been easier to make WB's money back.

@BlackIceJoe

I disagree. One of the huge things that made this show and Green Lanntern: TAS so great is that they were in CGI. Using that format gave them more freedom when it comes to angles and shots and gave it the open and vast feel of live-action with the creative freedom of animation.

@TheTrueBatfleck

Up to Deathstroke, which i face palmed at.

Now, I'll admit, it's "Better" shall we say, than Teen Titans Go, but...the writing is bleck, the action robotic, the plots are....I don't even know....

As for the originality of professor pyg? Look having an old character from the old comics or silver age does not an original concept make.

Even THE BATMAN on KidsWB did that with Wrath and Scorn and a plethora of others.

For doing a show where Batman's "Lesser known and original villains" take the spot light, they seem to be stealing every major rogues schtick.

The first thing Professor Pyg and Toad did was do Poison Ivy's jive of being environment crazy.

Magpie is basically Catwoman but as a Lady Gaga back up dancer and a mental problem.

Anarchy is shamelessly going for the Joker angle, and is horrible at it with how he so badly wants to be taken seriously.

Also I've heard lines in the episodes that are basically scene for scene what have happened in previous batman Cartoons, and not just TAS, I mean KidsWB's THE BATMAN.

Perhaps i shouldn't call the show original, just unimaginative.

Now

YOUNG JUSTICE...that was original, that was gripping, and that was imaginative.

Beware the Batman seems to be little more than "Look at how cool I am cause i'm 3D!"

@TheTrueBatfleck

On that we can agree! And again, if I was laying the hate on Beware the Bat a bit too thick, it's cause I'm a little jaded with how low the quality of DC cartoons has been lately, and i'm unforgiving of the ones in the Lantern Show, Beware the bat, and Titans go in particular.
