Karen Fukuhara Would Like To Explore Katana's Backstory In SUICIDE SQUAD Sequel

With her role in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, Karen Fukuhara is on the fast-track to fame and fortune. Should she return for a Task Force X sequel, she'd like to explore Tatsu Yamashiro's backstory.

Based on all of the Suicide Squad imagery unleashed during the film's marketing blitz, Karen Fukuhara's Katana and her Soultaker sword might be one of the characters that surprises the general audience.  In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the young actress briefly touched on what she'd like to explore in a spin-off or Suicide Squad sequel.

"I’d like to explore where she’s from, what kind of training she comes from – if she gets a stand-alone movie that would be awesome, said the UCLA grad,  She went on to showcase that she's very familiar with the character's backstory. “There’s so much story from the point of her husband’s death to her story leading up to Suicide Squad – that’s something that I’d love to show on the screen.

Based on Fukuhara's comments, it would appear that we don't explore Katana's backstory in the film hitting theaters this Friday.  Outisde of the main cast of Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and (maybe) Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) don't be surprised if we don't dive too deep into the backstory for any of the other Task Force X members - though we'll likely see flashbacks to how each of the inmates ended up at Belle Reve Prison.  Of course, Katana's backstory could also be explored in that rumored Birds of Prey spin-off Warner Bros. is currently considering, with Margot Robbie as the lead.

The embargo for Suicide Squad reviews lifts tomorrow morning so check back at CBM to find out whether the film is the DCEU's first hit with critics.

She is most definitely hot! I would like to see her background explored a bit more too. The Arrow version was cool, but I'd like to see the Cinematic version since it's already closer with the cursed sword and such.
