The First Official Trailer For The R-Rated Animated Adaptation Of BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Is Here

A fake version of this using footage from the BTS special was doing the rounds, but now check out the official trailer for the animated adaptation of Alan Moore's controversial classic, The Killing Joke...

Below you'll find the first trailer for Warner Bros. and DC's next original animated feature, Batman: The Killing Joke. After a behind-the- scenes special was released a while back, a fan cut together a trailer using snippets of that footage which fooled quite a few people - but this is the real deal.

Though the movie itself has been rated R, this trailer is suitable for all... though there's still a few pretty nasty shots if you're the squeamish type.

@Desr0w - apparently they tried to make it as similar as possible to the art from the comic. Maybe that's why it looks a bit strange. I feel you. It seemed weird at the beginning of the trailer but it settled for me as I went on.

Almost looked like a motion comic for a minute

@Desr0w - since this is the last time for Mark Hammil as The Joker I really wish they would have used the art style from Batman The Animated Series! That would have been an awesome way to close that circle especially since Bruce Timm is involved in this.

Oh man, I'm getting pumped for this, one of the best batman stories out there, if this is the last project to ever have Mark Hamill as the Joker and Kevin Conroy as Batman I could die happy. But knowing more is to come...

The way this story treats Barbara is sexist and awful, as she is just used as a prop for pain for Bats and Jim. Hopefully this animated movie give her some agency instead of essentially stuffing her into a fridge.
