There's obviously going to be a lot more promotional material and merchandise coming our way now that we're so close to the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, so we've gathered together some of the more interesting items below.

First there's the very cool Singtel light-up signal cups, which feature new (if tiny) looks at the Trinity. Then there's the new DC Multiverse Aquaman figure which bears the likness of Jason Momoa's take on the character, and finally we have Mattel's Batman Barbie. We got a look at Wonder Woman last year at SDCC, and a Superman version is on the way.

“Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth.

As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman’s wrongs. The rivalry between them is furious, fueled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.

The superhero stand-off that the world has been waiting for is finally arriving in cinemas, with an all-star cast bringing to life the characters we all love. Zack Snyder (300) returns as director following the huge success of 2013’s Man of Steel, along with Henry Cavill (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) in the role of Superman. Also starring Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) as Batman, Amy Adams (American Hustle) as Lois Lane, and Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 7) as Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an explosive, action-packed blockbuster that is sure to thrill DC fans everywhere.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25th, 2016.

I was watching an animated DC film which featured Amazons saving people and it concluded with a throwaway line that someone makes about the Amazon’s being “Supermodels.” This got me to thinking. People have speculated about what brings Diana to “Man’s World” in the upcoming Batman v Superman film. I am surprised that no one has explored a set of abstruse clues involving Mercy Graves. According to the New 52 comics, Mercy Graves is an Amazon. This obscure fact is supported by the apparent archetype that the film seems to establish about Amazons in the film in the form of Gal Gadot. She is a 5’10’’ (above average height for women) former model turned actress who will turn 30 in 2016. Mercy Graves is portrayed by Tao Okamoto a 5’10’’ (above average height for women) former model turned actress who will turn 30 in 2016. Heck of a coincidence - unless the casting call for an Amazon yielded a narrow range of actresses. I also find it odd that in the brief scenes where we see Gal Gadot and Tao Okamoto in civilian clothing they both seem rather “fashionable” as compared to say Lois Lane who just does not.

If Mercy Graves is Diana’s link to Lex Luthor – assuming they are playing up an Amazon origin - it might lend just a bit more credence to how Luthor can manipulate Kryptonian technology and presumably genetics just a few years after he gets his hands on it and would have some knowledge of other potential mete-humans (read Aquaman) if he was assisted by an Amazon who may have some experience in this field. After all the ONLY footage of her shows her with possession of Zod’s body leading to somewhere. In fact - if the aforementioned theory is NOT the case, then I hope that they have as credible a reason for Luthor to simply come out of nowhere and create Doomsday. Otherwise it will stretch my suspension of disbelief.

@Forthas - I was wondering why no one had mentioned other Amazons being casted for the flashback scenes. Like are there going to be various types of Amazons curvy, skinny etc or will they all just be supermodels.

I wonder if we will see famous amazons like Artemis, Donna Troy, Philippus etc or maybe they will create some new iconic amazon characters.

Yes i agree i hope they have good explanation for lex creating Doomsday, i know Lex is smart but do something like this is on another level of science.

@AsapXXX - Well... they did cast Connie Neilson (who is coincidentally also 5'10") as Queen Hippolyta. While she did do some modeling, I think she has mostly been an actress.

@Forthas - Oh i know about that casting but will they just have these super hot supermodels represent amazon. I just can't see the average female moviegoer relating to these supermodels.

I could see a some feminist up in arms complaint how this is man unrealistic take a=on an island of women. Even though that is how it is in some WW comic runs.

@Forthas - Lynda Carter was also a former supermodel before landing the role of Wonder Woman.
Carter and Gadot: supermodels, MS USA/Israel/Universe, actresses. That seems to be the type in Hollywood. So butterfaces like Rousey need not apply for Wonder Woman. Granted, while I hope there are a variety of ethnicities in Themyscira, I think they should all be varying degrees of fit women. There shouldn't be any fatties on Paradise Island, just as there were no fatties in King Leonidas' company of 300. Every male Spartan was cut as f.uck, and that's because they're a warrior culture that's constantly training.

@Battabing - I think the only problem about the supermodel thing is that ... IF... Mercy Graves is an Amazon and Luthor's "bodyguard"... then she could run into the same criticism Gadot did. It only bothers me if they present their (Amazon's) powers as being natural. Diana is super-powered because she is part divine. If Graves has super strength, how would they explain that? You stated that "Every male Spartan was cut as f.uck, and that's because they're a warrior culture that's constantly training" ...and that is the point. Graves and Gadot don't look like they have been training so unless magic is what makes them strong then fine or if Graves is not particularly strong but just skilled with weapons then that is also fine with me.

@Battabing
Yh Amazons should be in great shape basically the female version of 300 with super powers and hopefully there are various ethnicities. We understand that as comic fans but do you think the GA will be upset that paradise is full of supermodels ?

Remember when Mattel actually cared about the DC license?

I remember how random the first look at Aquaman was... out of a sudden Snyder just dropped it. I wish the same would happen with flash and cyborg, not just the concept art but an official picture.

@Forthas...excellent points!!! You may be on to something!!

Forthas - 2/3/2016, 7:13 AM
@bbarber2323 - Yeah! I don't recall anyone ever addressing this. Probably because the character of Mercy Graves is seen for only a few seconds, so it is easy to not pay attention to her. The other thing that I did not mention is that Hollywood tries to cater to the Asian market (likely why Tao Okamoto was cast in the role). So it would make sense that her role would be somewhat more significant than what we are led to believe, but it is downplayed in the trailers. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

@Forthas Tao Okamoto is a good actress though, she was great in Hannibal and Man in the High Castle .
Forthas
Forthas - 2/3/2016, 7:33 AM
@AsapXXX - I was not trying to suggest she was not a good actress. i really don't know her other than in Wolverine which i thought she was good in. I am just saying the marketing dynamics suggest her role might be larger than we think. This happened in Age of Ultron which was partly shot in Korea and featured actress Claudia Kim in a small but significant role....even though we never saw her in the trailers.
