One of the bigger mysteries surrounding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is whether a Green Lantern will cameo and if Dan Amboyer is playing Hal Jordan. Thanks to the recent DCEU Film Special on The CW, we know the Green Lanterns will have a major role in the Justice League two-parter and that the League will feature at least Jordan and John Stewart, if not also the likes of Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner and Simon Baz as well. Speaking to Pop Sugar, Amboyer gave some cryptic clues and described what it was like working with Zack Snyder.
On working with Zack Snyder:
It was interesting. He was a cool guy. I don't know if people know this, but he's really big about fitness on set, even as far as catering. So, he's always encouraging healthy food, which is great. He even makes you do push-ups in between takes.
On what scenes he filmed:
Um, I don't know what I can say that's not spoilery. So, let's just say, I filmed good ones.
Reveals he auditioned to play the lead superheroes in Man of Steel and The Flash:
That was more my brother's thing [reading comics as a kid]. I had an appreciation from the outside, but I never got deep into it. But I've become more interested in it and it's strange because I have started to audition for more of that stuff. I auditioned to play Superman in Man of Steel originally and I auditioned for The Flash. I've constantly been coming back to these characters.
Talks about his character in Batman v Superman. Says the currently released character names for his role, 'Lieutenant Christie' and 'Drone Pilot' are not the actual identity of his role in the film:
I can't [say anything about my character]. They told me I couldn't say anything. Oh, yes. [My character's name] does appear, but it's kind of an undercover thing. The name appears on me at one point.
What do you think? Is Amboyer playing Hal Jordan. If his characters name appears on his clothing as Amboyer suggests, perhaps we'll get a quick shot of a hot-shot Air Force pilot that has the name Jordan on his uniform? We'll find out once and for all when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in US theaters on March 25.
