Was Jesse Eisenberg Originally Up For The Role Of 'The Riddler' In BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE?

Batman v Superman producers Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder talk here about everything from Man of Steel 2 to the success of Deadpool and just how connected the Justice League movies really are.

This is pure speculation on my part, but the signs seem to be pointing to Jesse Eisenberg originally auditioning for the role of The Riddler in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As you may recall, Zack Snyder recently revealed that The Riddler and The Joker were set to make cameo appearances in the movie, and with the filmmaker since stating that Eisenberg's performance there convinced him to hire the actor for the role of Lex Luthor (who has been compared to The Riddler by those who have seen the movie), could it be that he very nearly ended up playing one of Batman's most iconic foes?

Well, in the video below, Charles Roven refuses to reveal who Eisenberg auditioned for, but does confirm that it was a character who was set to only make a cameo appearance. That definitely makes me think he was in line to play crazy old Ed Nygma! There's lots of other interesting intel though, including comments on Lex Luthor showing up in Suicide Squad, the status of Man of Steel 2, and those two Justice League movies. Check out the video and then let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

There once was an actor named Jesse
Whose Luthor was so very messy
Instead of playing it scary
He emulated Jim Carrey
With a bald head and outfit so dressy.

He does look the part from how he is drawn in the comics these days. But l personally never would have picked him for the part, but I never would have picked him for Lex either. So what do I know? I guess not as much as these Hollywood execs.

@Jeeorn - It's not hate, I liked The Flash in the movie, I just think that Eisenberg would have made a great Flash if that's the role that he was originally up for.

@BoredSorcercer - The movies no where near as bad as people say, I think everyone was expecting something different and it just didnt live up to their expectations. He would make a good Wally West, I would have cast Tom Hanks as Lex.
