Zack Snyder Confirms MAN OF STEEL 2 Is On The Way (And It's Called BATMAN v SUPERMAN)

There's been a lot of talk about a Man of Steel sequel lately, with some claiming that a follow-up to the 2013 movie simply isn't on the cards as of right now. Well, that might have something to do with the fact that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is just that...

Another interview with Zack Snyder has surfaced, and he's dropped some very interesting details about the Man of Steel sequel, namely that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is pretty much intended to be that. That makes sense considering the fact that most of Superman's supporting cast will be appearing, but it sounds like a follow-up starring the character is definitely on the cards.

"I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2," the filmmaker tells Canoe. "Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be."

Talking of the two-part Justice League movie that Snyder will direct, he added the following about the challenges involved with that: "We really have to figure out the why of them. And I think that we have. That’s the one thing that’s cool to me about Batman v Superman, it’s all about the mythology of these two massive icons. And I think that’s compelling."

What do you guys think about these comments from the director?

Starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman. Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open in theaters on March 25th, 2016.

Makes sense. After all, Batman and Superman had their first (postcrisis) meeting in Man of Steel comics.

Snyder's 2 favorite words = transcendent and mythological. Can't he think of anything else??

The better title is "Batman helping Superman while pimp out Wonder Woman and Aquaman so they won't be failures like Green Lantern"
Also, just because you learn a new word that sounds cool doesn't mean you should use it in every time you talk.

@obredaan for real this man has an infatuation with those words. Snyder: "I need two big words to really describe this thing....got it" lol

"It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be."

I.e., nothing even close to a plot has been considered, and Heroic Hollywood and Birth.Movies.Death are making it all up.

And Henry Cavill said that BvS wasn't a Superman sequel. It is most definitely a sequel to MOS plot wise.

Did anyone stop to think consider Justice League Part I and Part II, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and the solo Batman movies all have at least writers with some having directors attached along with Wonder Woman in pre-production.....

Why the [frick] would we be hearing news about MOS2 when there isn't a director, writer, or a release date attached?

Not that WB is like "[frick] Superman" but we have films with directors and writers we have zero news on in terms of characters in it and story but MOS2 has rumors about characters and stories with no writers attached.

That must be Eh Maybe logic.

You won't 100% and truly know until you see the movie.

It's like we have Black Panther movie news when there is no writer or director attached.

But we have no news on other MCU films even though we have writers on Captain Marvel, Gunn on GOTG2, Dr Strange is in pre-production, Infinity Wars has directors and writers, Spider-Man has directors and writers.

Eh Maybe logic.
