Zack Snyder Talks Christopher Nolan's Reaction To BATMAN v SUPERMAN; "I Think He Found It A Little Bit Hard"

Batman's return to the big screen comes just four years after Christopher Nolan ended the Caped Crusader's story in The Dark Knight Rises, and it sounds like the filmmaker was a little take aback to learn that Zack Snyder wanted to pit him against Superman in a movie which, according to Empire Online, will essentially portray the character as a villain.

"You tell me if you don’t want me to do it," Snyder reportedly told Nolan before the director replied: "Well, we don’t own these characters. When you’re done making Batman movies, someone else will [make them]." Could this be why Nolan - who executive produced Man of Steel - decided to remove himself from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Whatever the answer, Snyder got his blessing to move forward with his vision.

"I think he found it a little bit hard," Snyder admits. "I would feel the same way. In a lot of ways Batman v Superman is a very personal concept. It is just two people trying to understand each other’s point of view." Do you think Batman should have been left on the shelf a little longer?

Yeah, how dare Nolan react as any normal human being would upon learning that the character he spent an entire trilogy working on would be rebooted less than 3 years after his own! What an asshole, amirite? [frick] you Nolan, [frick] you.

@SauronsBANE - technically it is 3 if you count the original release date and when it was announced.

@SauronsBANE - He has every right to freak out, but it is time for a new Batman. As a lifelong Batman fan, it is time for a new fresh take, and it honestly feels like the most comic accurate Batman to date.

I think what he did with Batman was great, a tad overrated. TDK was great but I thought the other two fell short. My opinion.

I think the Batman that is being done now will be better in the long run.

Does anyone know where to find the super heroes page list on this new format?? This way I can read some articles that don't make it to the main page. Thanks.

Gotta love and respect TDK Trilogy. Not only is it the best superhero trilogy ever, but one of the best film trilogies ever. I understand how it was hard for Nolan. He reinvigorated the Batman character by making him a relevant & prominent film character again.

Maaaaaaybe, Bats should've been left on the shelf a little longer. I feel like more time was needed to maybe appreciate TDK trilogy; let is greatness linger. But, I'm glad we're getting him after seeing how amazing Affleck looks in the part.

One thing is for sure. I hope I get to see a martial expert Batman fighting this time.

I am tired of seeing Batman brawler

@KikinGonzalez - same here. I wonder how fluid he'll be in his fighting. Affleck's Batman is very bulky. Almost Bane big.

@KikinGonzalez - The choreographer did say we'd see Batman fight the way he never has on film, and Affleck said his arms have the Bat armor CGI'd on for the sake of flexibility and movement.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

@ComicsBornAndBred,
I didn't mean to "unlike" your comment. I was trying to reply to it and that happened.

@Battabing and @ComicsBornAndBred

Yeah I remember the choreographer saying Batman had a unique fighting style never seen before on film. I really want this Batman to literally kick ass the same way this Superman punches and shows off his real strength.

I know Snyder will deliver!

I can imagine that he's simply tired of being involved in super hero movies. It doesn't help that this new film has a character he'd been involved with for almost a decade.
