The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Michael B. Jordan will be reuniting with his Creed director Ryan Coogler for Marvel Studios' upcoming Black Panther, which stars Chadwick Boseman as the tituar hero. Details on his potential role were unavailable, but THR's sources claim he could be playing a villain.
This news comes a day after it was reported that Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) was in talks to join the film as the female lead. Additionally, while it hasn't been confirmed, Andy Serkis, who played Ulysses Klaue in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, will also likely be a part of the cast.
This will mark Jordan's second foray into the comic book movie genre as he previous starred as Johnny Storm a.k.a. the Human Torch in Josh Trank's poorly received Fantastic Four. However, outside of that rare misstep, Jordan's career is on the upswing as he earned quite a bit of acclaim for his role in the critically acclaimed Creed. His next project isn't set in stone just yet, but a Creed sequel is rumored to be on the docket.
So, what do you guys think? Excited? Who do you think he's playing? Erik Killmonger? White Wolf? Man-Ape? Sound off with your thoughts below!
