Marvel Hoping To Shoot Parts Of BLACK PANTHER In Africa
Marvel Studios executive producer Nate Moore has confirmed that they hope to shoot parts of Ryan Coogler's Black Panther in Africa, but what about the rest of the movie? Hit the jump for details...
Diversity is the name of the game with Black Panther. Director and co-writer Ryan Coogler (Creed) is African American as is fellow scribe Joe Robert Cole (The People v. O.J. Simpson). The cast meanwhile has attracted some amazing talent, including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong'o, and Michael B. Jordan, and it sounds like Marvel will make the movie even more authentic by shooting in Africa.
Talking to The Undefeated, Black Panther executive producer Nate Moore revealed: "We’ll do our stage work in Atlanta. And we’re definitely investigating shooting in Africa … both Marvel and Ryan feel that would be really good for the movie. We just haven’t drilled down on it yet." That promises to be very cool, and it will be interesting to see where in that continent they decide to shoot.
Regardless, this will no doubt make Black Panther feel a lot more real despite the fact that Wakanda is a fictional nation. Alas, we have to wait until 2018 to see the movie, but stay tuned for details!
