A few days ago, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man 3) and Chris Evans (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), along with Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man), took a trip to San Diego to visit the 18-year-old Ryan Wilcox, who's in the middle of a tough battle with cancer. When it was revealed that Wilcox was fighting cancer for a second time, his schoolmates got together and called in the leaders of the Avengers!

Wilcox said he looks up to Captain America because he "never gives up," so when the actors came through his front door, he was more than astonished! "Hey what's up buddy? We were in the neighbourhood and thought we'd cruise by." Evans was heard saying to Wilcox, who was sporting a Captain America T-shirt. Gwyneth Paltrow, via Instagram, shared the video below, and wrote this caption with one of the images. "Today @ryanwilcox0303 got a little surprise. Thank you to the incredible #chrisevans and my better work half @robertdowneyjr for being the men you both are. And thank you to the Wilcox family for your hospitality! #ryanstrong"

Downey Jr. gave Wilcox an autographed hat, while Evans capped off the visit by leaving the following message on the portrait above his bed. "Stay strong Brother!! Chris Evans. CAP." The visit evidently lifted Wilcox's spirits, as the teen said that he's "going to get through this." Share your thoughts below!

This is what it's all about man. Just like when Boyega dressed as Finn for sick kids.

I'm never surprised by the kindness and goodwill of RDJ and Evans.

These two are class acts when it comes to putting a smile on a fan's face. Especially when that fan is in need and unwell.

Heroes on and off the screen.

@ComicsBornAndBred - it's amazing how different Chris Evans looks when he doesn't have the dyed hair, different haircut, lack of facial that he does when he's Cap. It just looks like Chris Evans in a very well made Cap suit here.

As awful as cancer is, these kids get to have their faces and spirits lifted by these great heroes.

You can't play Captain America and NOT be a truly awesome person.
