Hawkeye Finally Gets A Mask In More CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Concept Art

Hawkeye has never had a comic book faithful costume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but concept artist Andy Park has revealed a design which very nearly made it into Captain America: Civil War...

Jeremy Renner being put in Hawkeye's classic purple costume was always unlikely, hence why no one was really all that surprised to see him in a pretty faithful version of the archer's suit from The Ultimates when The Avengers was released in 2012. However, when Jeph Loeb's critically panned Ultimates 3 was released, Clint Barton suddenly had a drastically different costume in that reality.

It's a look which divided the opinions of fans, but one which very nearly made it into Captain  America: Civil War! It looks a lot cooler in Andy Park's artwork than it ever did in the source material, and arguably would have been a fitting look for the hero here (especially if it was explained that he was hiding his identity to protect his family). Do you wish Marvel had used this alternate design?

A scanned version of the image below did the rounds earlier this year, but as you can see, the new pieces of artwork released by Park offer up a much more detailed look at this take on the suit.

Some comic costumes just dont translate well to todays movies. Hawkeye and Wanda are examples.

"Tenants are "skipping" at a record rate. Skipping of course is the common name given to the act of simply walking out on a lease. The lease is signed, the tenants move in, live in the unit for a while, and then for whatever reason, decide to pack up and move. Can you stop them? Of course not."

@MrDitkovich - I know. Hope that legal website can help you recoup your losses.

Oh, and my rent will be a little late this month. I spent it all on the Steam sale.

He's awesome one way or another. Just wish they highlighted the purple a little more in the film itself. There's really no reason not to. The best he's looked though, is probably the Age of Ultron outfit with the long coat. I know Renner said it was uncomfortable to work in, but it looked cool. Again, they should make the purple more prominent. With all the bright costumes and suits in these films, it won't look out of place.

@MosquitoFarmer - i agree the purple should be a bit brighter, but i still think this suit is the best hawkeye suit so far

You know, on second thought I actually kind of agree. He looked damn cool in this movie. Tactical and functional. The concept art showed more color, but he did still look awesome.

The piece on the left is new and the one on the right was previously seen in crappy quality with a watermark plastered over the top. :)
