In the past, we have featured artwork that conceptual artist Rodney Fuentebella has created for Marvel's Iron Man 3 and The Avengers, but today we are showcasing his most recent work for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy and the Russo brothers' Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The Captain America 2 concept art includes alternate costume designs for The Falcon/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). While the Guardians of the Galaxy concept art consists of a Yondu (Michael Rooker) character design and art of key sequences in the film involving  Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and Klyn, the space prison.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier. Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Great art. I really like the last Winter Soldier one. Something about the mask in the movie that I didn't so much. Great character though

Glad we got what we got in Winter Soldier.

You know, the onyl thing I strongly disliked was the super mega three-helicarrier exploding finale. That just reeked of studio interference.

The whole movie was pretty small-scale and kept CGI to believable levels, and then the climax was just too over the top and eyeblinding.

Same for Guardians, wish it was less eyeblinding slow motion CGI scenes and more story. Let's stop this nonsense pretty please.

Btw The Winter Soldier theme that played whenever he was on screen was epic.

I like what they went with. Some of those winter soldiers aren't too great.

This one looks like Bono

winter soldier concept art, all the concept art of falcon where he hasent got wings are shit (especially the ones in the art book). i love the guardians of the galaxy concept art, the thing on yondu's head should have been a bit bigger tho.

^ Hawkeye and Widow easily the most stale one dimensional characters in the MCU.

Renner stars in pretty much each movie that throws money at him, he doesn't really give a damn.

And somehow under Whedon's direction Johansson gives the most cringeworthy performance i've ever seen.

BW was pretty great in Winter Soldier, but Whedon already brought at least the looks and dialogue we heard in the trailer back to their original terrible level. I'll be seriously pissed off if all the hard work the Russo's did is undone in A2.

MarvelPsycho79- i think the design for falcon is great i think all they'd have to do is change the colour scheme to the 616 version and it would be perfect. but it probably takes more influence from the ultimate version in terms of design.

@PymParticles I'll give you Hawkeye because he's extremely underdeveloped but if you genuinely think that Black
Widow is stale and one dimensional you know nothing about characters. BW in Avengers gave a surprise performance for me. I thought she'd just be eye candy but they really showed off her manipualtive and interrogative personality she has in the comics.

Marvelpsycho79- i hope so that would be awesome. i have the art book for this and i cant help but feel they whent for the best design for every thing based on what was in the book. but in the GOTG and avengers book i felt there where so many designs that where better (mainly talking about nova corps and chitauri). marvel really have some great concept artists.
