Remember last month when some spoilers started doing the rounds indicating that She-Hulk and War Machine will be the ones to die in Civil War II? (if not, you can find the details here) Well, their placement on the cover art by Olivier Coipel might just confirm that!

We'll just have to wait and see if that ends up being the case, but in a new interview, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso shed some light on why it's Captain Marvel - and not Captain America - whi ends up clashing with Iron Man. "There’s a reason that Carol is a part of the opposition forces. It not only speaks to her character, but her new role in the Marvel universe. She’s the leader of Alpha Flight, which is Earth’s first line of defense from all incursions. As of today, she is a very powerful authoritative figure in the Marvel universe. Having been involved in the initial architecture of the story, and given Tony Stark’s involvement in the story, it made perfect sense for [Bendis] to write it."

Oh, and for those of you sceptical about Civil War II, you probably have every right to be as it sounds like the story is being hastily thrown together to launch alongside the Captain America: Civil War movie. "This was not like [the first] Civil War or Secret Wars, where we planned for a couple of years. We’ve been planning this for maybe three or four months." That's...encouraging? What do you think?
