5 Reasons The Ultimate Edition Will Kick ASS & Breaking Down The Trailer
By Jeremius
Out of nowhere, a trailer for the upcoming blu-ray of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice was released, and blew us away. Now, the movie wasn't the best, nor the worst, but it was dissapointing. The R-rated cut has more than 30 minutes of footage absent from the cut we saw in theaters, which is sure to give us more insight into the film's world. Now, i am 60% confident that it will be generally better-received than the original cut.
But, i will hold my total judgement until the blu-ray is released. Now, let's count down the reasons why it will be awesome, and breaking down some things in the trailer.
1. Jena Malone Is Playing WHO Now?!
Ever since the rumours of Jena Malone playing Batgirl, Robin or plain Barbara Gordon in BVS we all took it as it was set in stone. After Snyder tried to cover himself from the rumours, Jena was cut from the theatrical cut, and there must be a good reason for that, right?.
Well, her hair is blonde in the first look of her in the film, which goes against one of Barbara's key traits: her red hair. But the glasses are spot on. Maybe, Zack likes blondies more? Whatever the reason is, whoever her character turns out to be, we all need to hold hope that one key member of the Batfamily appears.
2. Explaining A Lot Of The Conflict
One of the valid points made against BVS was that it's heroes didn't have too much reasons to fight against one another or loathe one another. Superman hates Batman...because he's...Batman? He views him as a vigilante, yes, but is that it? It seems no, as the trailer hints that Clark put on his glasses and did some investigation on the Batman's reputation. One woman said of the Dark Knight 'he only speaks with fists' or something along the lines of that. Maybe that's how Clark views Batman as such a danger.
And the badass moment where an old black man in a hat, puts out a lottery ticked with the Bat-Logo in it, uttering a badass line 'he's angry..and he's hunting'.
3. More Context On Batman & His World
If any of the rumours are to be believed then we may or may not get the Joker and more on the dead Robin. That would be cool, and since the R part of the cut was added there for violence and as we know THAT scene with Joker and Jason Todd (who's presumably the dead sidekick) is violent as heck.
And maybe we get Batsy to do more Batman-like things, aside from killing and be flipping detective for once. The 'World's Greatest Detective' degree is for Batman just to sit down and look at? NO, so they need to make good use of it.
4. A Better Product All Together (I Hope)
The RT score for BVS is a tragedy. Let it sink in that the documentary 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' has a score of 64% on RT. WHAT. THE. HECK? That's just ridiculous, by now. The film was a mess, many critics said and i agree some scenes for almost all the movie where put together so badly, it's laughable. It tried to be The Death Of Superman and The Dark Knight Returns and Justice League: Origin where simply Batman V Superman would have been more than enough. With the Ultimate Cut
CONCLUSION - What Do YOU Think?
While we can't know for sure if the ultimate cut is any good, BVS is what it is, and the only think we can look forward to is how Suicide Squad turns out and if it's a good and Martha-less film.
