COMIC SPOILERS: The Truth About That Big Hydra Turn Revealed In CAPTAIN AMERICA: STEVE ROGERS #2

We expected them to drag this out, but the creative team behind that massive Hydra reveal in the pages of Captain America: Steve Rogers have decided to spill the beans in the second issue...

Back in the pages of Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 it was revealed that the iconic hero was actually a sleeper agent for Hydra all along. At the time we were told this wasn't a trick: Cap wouldn't turn out to be a clone, a LMD, and he hadn't been brainwashed.

Well, you can forget about all that - as many guessed, it was just a gimmick after all.

Turns out Rogers' early memories of being indoctrinated into Hydra were actually implanted by Kobik, the sentient Cosmic Cube, who was in turn being manipulated by the returning Red Skull.

Check out the lettered preview below, and head on over to Comicbook.com for an interview with Marvel EIC, Axel Alonso.

@ALostCause - Did people ever believe in Cap's turn? I thought the outcry was more about how awkwardly contrived it was to break out the ol' mind control trope.

@HEAVENORHECK - Seriously, a LOT of people actually believed it. I read many comments on several of these types of websites, and it was mind-boggling that they REALLY thought Marvel would actually do that and think it would work (continue to sale comics books). Some people are easily fooled.

@MustangRon - Well look how long Octavius-in-Peter's-body lasted. HYDRA Steve wasn't ever going to last but I was half afraid just how long Marvel was willing to drag it out.

@RevanOfKrypton - they definitely had this planned before issue 1 hit... I doubt they re-wrote it within a month.

@HulkOnion - you're probably right... but the twist is still lame

Lmaooooooooooo an even funnier thought. Marvel comic universe has been making so many bad decisions that I wouldn't even be surprised if they went that route too. DC comics are crushing it right now. They need to take some notes from them lol
