STRANGER THINGS Actress Shannon Purser Also Has Her Sights Set On Playing Marvel's SQUIRREL GIRL

It seems Anna Kendrick may have opened the floodgates when she put herself forward for the role of Squirrel Girl a few weeks back, because now young Shannon Purser wants in on the action...

Earlier in the month, Scott Pilgrim VS. The World actress Anna Kendrick chose Squirrel Girl as the comic book hero she'd most like to suit up as in a movie. Despite Marvel Studios currently having no plans (that we know of) to adapt this character for the big screen, fans loved the idea so much that it kick-started quite a buzz on social media, and now more actresses are throwing their names up the tree.

Fresh from making an impression as the unfortunate Barbara Holland in the superb Netflix series, Stranger Things, Shannon Purser recently sent out the following Tweet.

We should stress once again that there is no Squirrel Girl movie in the works, and it's extremely unlikely that Marvel has plans to introduce her to an established franchise any time soon - but, Doreen Green remains a very popular player in the Marvel Comics Universe, so stranger things have been known to happen.

What do you guys think? Would Purser be your pick for this character? Any interest in a Squirrel Girl movie at all? Sound off below.

That's a genuine question by the way.

@MattBellissimo - Her appeal is that she seemingly has none, yet endures kicking the baddest superhero and supervillain ass around.

A cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy would be funny.

@RamonSuarez - That's what I'm thinking. A cameo somewhere, then show up for the last avengers movie to help out. I'd have a hard time justifying buying a movie ticket for a movie called Squirrel Girl.

@slickrickdesigns - she's great, but way too young. I actually think this girl would be perfect.
