SPOILERS for the season 2 finale of Daredevil follow. Elodie Yung's take on Elektra was by far one of the highlights of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil season 2, but in the final episode she met her maker on the point of her own sai, just as she did in the comics.

Of course the very last shot makes it pretty clear that she will be resurrected by The Hand - but what's next for the character when that happens?

While speaking to IGN, Yung didn't seem particularly interested in a solo Elektra adventure, but does have designs on appearing as a villain on The Defenders, which would unite the Man Without Fear, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

“I love Elektra. I really have a special place in my heart for her. It was very enjoyable for me to discover her and to adapt her for this project and bring myself to this character. So I have a special spot for her. Having my own show -- it’s not something that I think of, it’s not. I think I would choose to do things because they are interesting, because I like a character or because it’s very well written. Or because it makes sense. So that’s my answer.

I would love to appear in 'The Defenders. I don’t know -- because hopefully she’ll maybe be on the bad side. I don’t know -- I don’t know what they’d do with Elektra in 'The Defenders' but that would be a good dynamic I think -- to be confronted by these four superheroes and I think it would be interesting. I’d be curious to see what they do.”

Obviously The Defenders is a long way off, so there's always the chance Elektra will reemerge before that. What do you guys think? Would you like a solo outing, or are you happy to wait for the continuation of Daredevil's story before seeing her again?

no solo series, but would like to see more of her. Daredevil doesn't have too many supporting heroes so keeping her around would be nice.

I haven't finished the series yet, but so far, I wouldn't want a solo Elektra film. She doesn't seem like she would work, at least not her depiction of Elektra. Now, you want to give me a Punisher series? I'm game.

The Defenders will be taking on IGH. I can see Matt's connection to it but Elektra joining in would be kind of odd. Just like Punisher would be an odd addition as well. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist seems like enough. Not to mention the possibility of Hellcat.

I'm still a bit meh over her death only because of how iconic it is in the comics & Bullseye didn't do it.

I still feel the Elektra/Hand arc was weak. We have zombie ninjas that never get talked about. They happen but they are forgotten. We have that hole in the ground which never gets talked about. We have those people from the hospital who Matt save but what is wrong with them never gets discussed again. We have Nobu back but how he's back never gets talked about. We have this Black Sky stuff that we barely know about & yet we should be shocked when it's learned Elektra is the Black Sky. We know the Rising is coming but what is it? Everything about that arc was so vague or stuff happened but never talked about why it's important or why not to focus on a 40 story hole in the ground.

I mean I love the show but the final few episodes felt messy.

I always felt in a way this season could get a little sloppy since we have 2 storylines that never come together.

Nothing about Punisher & the gangsters is connected to Elektra & the hand. It's like a Batman show connecting Under the Red Hood with Court of Owls.

@Kman - That's likely true but it's still disappointing that that death and Gwen's death will never be done justice faithful on the big screen.

I'm on ep 11, so far this season has been amazing. I think a lot of the unanswered questions will lead to the defenders. The big hole, zombie ninjas and the rising seem a bit out of Daredevil's league. He'll team up with the rest of the Netflix heroes taking a page from the Avengers. I guarantee they mention them in the Defenders series.
