During 20th Century Fox's Cinemacon panel this afternoon in Las Vegas, the studio officially confirmed that a sequel to Deadpool is in development.  Director Tim Miller, screenwriters Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds were all confirmed as returning. As teased in the end credits stinger, Deadpool will be joined by Cable for the sequel, although an actors has yet to be cast.  Perhaps an announcement will be made at this Summer's SDCC?

Fox recently secured the dates of October 6, 2017 and January 12, 2018 for two Untitled Marvel Films, so it's likely that the Deadpool 2 will take one of these dates.

Deadpool will be released across home video platforms on May 10.

@Triggermv - scrawny neck. Cable should have a thick neck. But they'll likely use him

@ThorKilsen - All he has to do is bulk up like every other actor under the sun.

@Demongod20 - I don't like him for Thor either. He's got the soft baby face of a farm boy. I realize they're resultant and don't take damage like us but I feel like he should look like he's been in battle more than a gym. Lang makes more sense for cable than hemsworth does for Thor. Lang looks like military and so does cable.

@ThorKilsen - Doesn't matter, Fox have hardly kept in line with the comics with every film they've done. Stephen Lang even wants the role himself
