DEADPOOL Deleted Scene Features Infamous Marvel Comics Prison, The Raft

Deadpool has been out on DVD/Blu-ray for a little while now, and one particular deleted scene features the famous Marvel prison, The Raft.. sort of.

While watching the Extended and Deleted Scenes from Deadpool, I stumbled upon a scene that features the name of a particular Marvel prison. The Raft is used to house supervillians and criminals of the Marvel Universe, and makes an appearance in the MCU film Captain America: Civil War after the Airport battle between the opposing sides.

This little nod to the prison was included in a deleted scene which shows Ajax (aka Francis) being excorted by boat to the "entrance" of The Raft for release, implying that Ajax has been in prison before the events of Deadpool. This deleted scene may have not been used because of Marvel Studios' use of the prison in Civil War.

Here are screenshots from the deleted scene in question:

Sue the bastards!

Just kidding.

Deadpool gets leeway with the Helicarrier and The Raft.

While traditional comic book fans are excited for Deathstroke's debut on the big screen, will the larger, less ingrained, public care, now that a character like Deadpool has already made a huge pop-culture impact?

The thing to remember is that, to mainstream viewers who are not comic book fans, two assassins with similar sounding names (Deathstroke/Deadpool; Slade Wilson/Wade Wilson) are going to be somewhat hard to keep separated.

They are different obviously. Deathstroke is a great featured character in DC cartoons, TV shows, and video games - and has even done alright for himself on the comic book page - but he has nowhere near the branding power that Deadpool does.

Just a thought.
