New DEADPOOL Concept Art Confirms Presence Of A Major Marvel Studios Easter Egg

There's been a lot of speculation and arguments about whether or not THAT really was one of THOSE in the final act of Deadpool, but an official piece of concept art has finally cleared things up...

As many of you have been claiming since it was first spotted in the trailers for Deadpool, the final battle between Wade Wilson and Ajax really did take place aboard a Helicarrier. Well, technically. While the piece of artwork below is quite clearly labelled "Helicarrier", it's way too soon to start talking about the Merc with the Mouth hanging out with The Avengers.

io9 actually caught up with artist Emmanuel Shiu, and he told the site that, "he was asked to redesign the helicarrier so it looked as different as possible from the one in The Avengers. And it had to look like it had been taken apart in some places." So, it was a Helicarrier, but not in an obvious enough way to lead to any sort of dispute between Marvel Studios and Fox!

That's a really nice design though, kinda like enclave power armour.

If Marvel and Fox were smart, they'd do a deal similar to Sony's Spider-Man with Deadpool.

@Lemons - I agree. Marvel Comics loves using DP in all their comics. So, I'm positive that they would love to have him make cameos throughout the MCU.

@Ramiel - That's not gonna happen in the very PG-13 Marvel Cinematic Universe.

@Jhuntdaprodigy - Huh? DP has appeared in Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Avengers comics, and they are rated Teen. Heck, he's even appeared in Ultimate Spider-Man, which is a kids show. DD and JJ proves that the MCU isn't very PG-13.

When DP appears in an X-Men movie, it won't be rated-R.

@Jhuntdaprodigy - Well it, uh, just did...in the very PG-13 X-Men universe...soooo your point is?

Also, Daredevil and Jessica Jones exist in that "very PG-13 universe" sooooo, again, point?

@Lemons - Agreed. It would be cool if we had a few X-Men in Infinity war.It wouldn't even effect any of Fox's plans as their X-Men are set in s different time period right now and for the foreseeable future.Marvel could cast anyone they wanted to for the roles because of the timeline difference.

Or.... this is the subtle begining of a Marvel/Fox shared universe, and we think it's just a joke.

@Kevwebsz - imagine DP among Scott, Stark & Spidey, it's a big ass nuke of jokes ... language would kill cap for sure

I do think some of Fox's characters will make cameos in the MCU. I'm sure Feige is trying to repair any damage that Ike may have caused back then. Marvel producing two Fox shows is a start.

FOX, ya clever bastards!

Is this technically an MCU easter egg, though? Perhaps FOX and Marvel share the rights?

I don't see how they COULDN'T make this version of Deadpool a part of the MCU. They could just make a deal like they did with Sony and Fox could handle the R-rated stuff. But Fox is a bitch, soooooo...
