This casting is for the "World's Finest" movie which has been floating around Hollywood for many years now, this adaption could be a masterpiece in the making and it doesn't hurt too that the two biggies Superman and Batman would be starring in it, it would be the mother of all superhero movies.
Brandon Routh as Superman (Clark Kent):
The original story of Superman relates that he was born Kal-El on the planet Krypton, before being rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father Jor-El, moments before Krypton's destruction. Discovered and adopted by a Kansas farmer and his wife, the child is raised as Clark Kent and imbued with a strong moral compass. Very early he started to display superhuman abilities. Upon reaching maturity he resolved to use said abilities for the benefit of humanity.
While referred to less than flatteringly as "the big blue Boy Scout" by some of his fellow superheroes, Superman is hailed as "The Man of Steel," "The Man of Tomorrow," and "The Last Son of Krypton" by the general public. As Clark Kent, Superman lives among humans as a "mild-mannered reporter" for the Metropolis newspaper Daily Planet (Daily Star in the earliest stories). There he works alongside reporter Lois Lane, with whom he is romantically linked.
Well Brandon Routh is "The Man of Steel," love it or hate it, he was the perfect Superman even if "Superman Returns" wasn't so perfect, he is the Superman of today, born for the role.
Christian Bale as Batman (Bruce Wayne):
Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a billionaire playboy, industrialist, and philanthropist. Having witnessed the murder of his parents as a child, he swore revenge on crime, an oath tempered with the greater ideal of justice. Bruce trains himself both physically and intellectually and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in Gotham City.
Christian Bale is Batman, and the fact is he is contracted for a crossover film with Superman. Of course though, let's get the Nolan Trilogy out the way first, then get this "World's Finest" movie done, an epic beyond epics.
Michelle Monaghan as Lois Lane:
Lois underwent a character alteration beginning with John Byrne's The Man of Steel miniseries, which completely rewrote Superman's origin and history. In this modern version of events, Lois was portrayed as a tough-as-nails reporter who rarely needed rescuing. She was depicted as strong, opinionated, yet sensitive.
Just like actress Michelle Monaghan, all you have to do is see many of her film roles to know she is Lois Lane through and through. I have noticed lately many of you here have picked up on that too and why not, shes the perfect Lois Lane.
Anton Yelchin as Jimmy Olsen:
Jimmy Olsen a cub reporter working for The Daily Planet and friends with Superman. Jimmy designed the signal watch he wears himself, which led to his first meeting with Superman. Superman briefly considered confiscating the watch, but decided he trusted Jimmy to use it responsibly. Jimmy still to this day take photos for the newspaper the Daily Planet.
Well i saw Anton picked quite a lot for the role of Jimmy lately (can't remember who though) and what can i say, i can't disagree, he's an amazing choice for Jimmy and looks like he jumped out of the printed page.
Gary Oldman as Commissioner James Gordon:
Jim Gordon was transferred back to the city after spending more than fifteen years in Chicago. A man of integrity, Gordon found that his only ally against the mob-controlled administration was the Batman. One of the most significant differences in this version is that Batman is never deputized and Gordon's relationship with him is kept out of the public eye whenever possible. It was also added that he was a Special Forces veteran who is capable in hand-to-hand combat. He is depicted as having an extra-marital affair with a fellow detective, Sarah Essen, due to friction in his marriage. Essen and Gordon correctly deduce Batman's true identity, but are unable (and in Gordon's case, unwilling) to prove it.
Not a lot i can say for this one, Oldman makes just the best Jim Gordon, why change him.
Colm Feore as Lex Luthor:
Lex Luthor is the archenemy of Superman. The character was originally depicted as a mad scientist who in the vein of pulp novels, wreaks havoc on the world with his futuristic weaponry. In his earliest appearances, Luthor is shown with a full head of red hair. Despite this, the character later became hairless as the result of an artist's mistake.
I would of cast Kevin Spacey in this movie as i think he's a great Luthor but i just can't see Spacey in battle armor lol, so i went with a great replacement that could even out shine him as Lex. His name is Colm Feore and he's a quality actor, been in many films including "Chronicles of Riddick." This guy could own the role of Lex if he got the chance, he could even become the best ever Luthor oh yes incredible actor.
Crispin Glover as The Joker:
Throughout his comic book appearances, the Joker is portrayed as a master criminal whose characterization has varied from that of a violent psychopath to a goofy trickster-thief. He is the archenemy of Batman, having been directly responsible for numerous tragedies in Batman's life, including the paralysis of Barbara Gordon, and the death of Jason Todd, the second Robin.
Throughout the character's long history, there have been several different origin tales. They most commonly depict his falling into a vat of chemical waste, which bleaches his skin and turns his hair green and his lips bright red, giving him the appearance of a clown. Well what can I say, got to be Crispin Glover again. yeah i know, i have cast Crispin a few times now as Joker, but why not, he is the perfect Joker nobody else even comes close.
Brittany Murphy as Harley Quinn:
The character proved so popular in the "Batman: The Animated Series" that she was eventually added to the Batman comic book canon (although she had already appeared in the Elseworlds Batman: Thrillkiller 62 in 1997). The comic book version of Quinn, like the comic book version of The Joker, is more dangerously psychotic and less humorously quirky than the animated series version.
Who better to play her than the one and only Brittany Murphy and just like the Joker, ive cast her a lot, but she is Harley Quinn, inside and out, born for the role of this psychotic comic book character.
Now i'm in two minds now about the next pick, i have two choices with two incredible actors for the casting of Brainiac:
Jude Law as Brainiac:
Viggo Mortensen as Brainiac:
In the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths DC Universe, Brainiac's history was completely rewritten again. The post-Crisis version of Brainiac was now a radical Coluan scientist called Vril Dox who, having attempted to overthrow the Computer Tyrants of Colu, was sentenced to death. In his last moments before disintegration, his consciousness is attracted light years away to Milton Fine, a human sideshow mentalist who worked under the alias "Brainiac". Needing cranial fluid to maintain his possession of Fine, Dox went on a murder spree. He discovered that Fine had genuine psychic powers, which he frequently wielded against Superman.
Now maybe you guys could help me on this one, Jude Law (Road To Prediction) or Viggo Mortensen (History of Violence). Both amazing talented actors in their own right and both would own the comic book character Brainiac. Just for fun a tiny poll and i'll go with the winner.
