The first adventure features the Asgardian trickster god Loki, who seeks
revenge against his adopted brother Thor. Using an illusion, Loki tricks the Hulk into destroying a railroad track, after that he then diverts a radio call by Rick Jones for help to Thor, whom Loki hopes will battle the Hulk. Unknown to Loki, the radio call is also answered by Ant-Man, the Wasp and Iron Man. After an initial misunderstanding, the heroes unite and defeat Loki. Ant-Man states the five work well together and suggests they form a combined team — with the Wasp naming the group the Avengers. The original members are known as the "founding members," and courtesy of an Avengers Charter are responsible for the good name of the team. As a result, their wishes regarding the direction of the team are given additional weight and deference.
The roster changes almost immediately by the beginning, Ant-Man has become Giant-Man and the Hulk leaves once he realizes how much the others fear his unstable personality. Feeling responsible the Avengers try to locate and contain the Hulk (a recurring theme in the early years of the team), which subsequently leads them into combat with Namor the Sub-Mariner. This would result in the first major milestone in the Avengers' history - the revival and return of Captain America. Captain America joins the team and eventually becoming field leader. Captain America is also given "founding member" status in the Hulk's place. The Avengers go on to fight foes such as Captain America's wartime enemy Baron Zemo, who forms the Masters of Evil: the Lava Men, Kang the Conqueror, Wonder Man, Immortus and Count Nefaria.
The next milestone came when every member but Captain America resigned and were replaced by three former villains - Hawkeye, the Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver. Although lacking the raw power of the original team, "Cap's Kooky Quartet" (as they were sometimes jokingly called), proved their worth by fighting and defeating the Swordsman, the original Power Man, Doctor Doom and Kang. They are soon rejoined by Henry Pym (who changes his name to Goliath), the Wasp, Hercules, the Black Knight, and the Black Widow, although the last two do not obtain official membership status until years later, hint hint.
This is a sort of sequel to our very own CBM'S THE HAWK in which he cast the entire 108 members of the Justice League! A very good casting call and great article and for all of you who have not yet seen it you can see it here below, just copy and paste the http address.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ChroniclesofMoeniaArcis/news/?a=8334
In my huge 116 Avengers call (Didn't count the same characters twice) i was going to do just Avengers but ending up doing them all, even the Dark Avengers to the Guardians of the Galaxy to the Young Avengers and yes the Guardians from the 31st century served as honorary members during the Korvac saga. As for the Young Avengers, i had help with them from our JOSH24, he done such a good job on his television cast i thought why change it. You can also take a look at his article from the http address below and i think you will agree that is a very solid cast, best to date.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/joshw24/news/?a=8175
Now here my cast for the Avengers and yes i know they cant all fit in the movie lol, enjoy! ; )
Captain America was the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a sickly young man who was enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum in order to aid the United States war effort. Captain America wears a costume that bears an American flag motif and is armed with an indestructible shield that can be thrown as a weapon and today he is leader of the Avengers! I bet your wondering why Sam Worthington is up there too as well as Jason Lewis which is probably not a shock to you lol. I will tell you why, i think if Marvel wants a A-lister then Sam Worthington is our man and it doesn't hurt that he's a big tough guy that can really act and he actually looks very much like Steve Rogers too. Also he's hot property right now which doesn't hurt either, id be surprised if Marvel has not even contacted him as i reckon he would be the best by far to play the biggest of roles; Captain America!
Sam Worthington as Captain America =
If though Marvel are wanting a not so famous actor to don the tights of course it should be Jason Lewis =
Of course some of the Avengers are cast and are perfect for their roles like Robert Downey junior for Tony Stark (Iron Man) =
Born Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark, he is an industrialist playboy and genius engineer who suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping and is forced to build a destructive weapon. He instead creates a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. He later decides to use the suit to protect the world as Iron Man.
Edward Norton as the Hulk =
The Hulk is cast as the emotional and impulsive alter ego of the withdrawn and reserved physicist Dr. Bruce Banner. The Hulk appears shortly after Banner is accidentally exposed to the blast of a test detonation of a gamma bomb he invented. Subsequently, Banner will involuntarily transform into the Hulk, depicted as a giant, raging, humanoid monster, leading to extreme complications in Banner's life.
Chris Hemsworth (of course) as Thor =
Thor's father Odin decides his son needs to be taught humility and consequently places Thor (without memories of godhood) into the body and memories of an existing, partially disabled human medical student, Donald Blake. After becoming a doctor and thoroughly believing himself to be the young surgeon Blake, he later discovers Thor's disguised hammer and learns to change back and forth into the Thunder God. The real Blake's persona remains elsewhere until many years later, after Odin becomes satisfied of Thor's humility and lifts the spell, thereby removing the need for a mortal alter ego. The mortal experience, however, shapes Thor into an honorable and courteous individual, who is loyal to all comrades.
Simon Pegg as Giant-man/Ant-man =
Hank Pym's character Ant-Man, with the power to shrink to the size of an insect. Pym was later given a crime-fighting partner, Janet van Dyne, the Wasp. The two would fall in love and eventually marry. Pym would later assume other superhero identities, from the size-changing Giant-Man to Goliath, to another insect-themed character, Yellowjacket. Now i know what you think, how can he big Hank? But i reckon he could pull it off no problem, as an actor he is more than just comedy, Simon Pegg is a complex actor and all he has to do is bleach his hair and put on a American accent! Easy and after all the Ant-Man movie is supposed to be a little light hearted too.
I'm torn between these two as for the role of the Wasp, both good actresses and both got that petite pixie look for the Wasp too.
Eva Longoria =
Morena Baccarin =
The Wasp (Janet van Dyne) is a superheroine in the Marvel Comics universe and founding member of The Avengers. Jan's power having the ability to shrink to a height of perhaps several centimeters, fly by means of insectoid wings (which appear only at small size), and fire energy blasts.
Jensen Ackles as Hawkeye =
Clint Barton was an orphan, and ran away from the orphanage as a pre-teen to join the circus as a carnival performer, where he was trained in the use of the bow and arrow by the Swordsman and Trickshot. When he discovered that his mentors were both criminals he rejected them, leading to a beating by Swordsman which left Barton badly injured and hospitalized. Years later, he saw Iron Man in action, and was inspired and decided to become a costumed hero called Hawkeye. However, there is a misunderstanding on Hawkeye's first outing and he was believed to be a criminal but now he is an Avenger. Clearly Jensen was made for this role and the characters not much different from his Supernatural one, cocky as hell.
Dane Cook as Quicksilver =
Pietro Django Maximoff, superpower superhuman speed, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are recruited by the hero Iron Man to join the team the Avengers. Together with leader Captain America and former villain Hawkeye, the four become the second generation of Avengers, and are later dubbed as "Cap's Kooky Quartet". Well Dane Cook was actually going to be The Flash in Justice League movie that now isn't happening, not yet anyway. I reckon he'd make a great Quicksilver myself.
Olivia Munn as Scarlett Witch =
Magda — pregnant with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver — takes sanctuary at Mount Wundagore in Transia, the home of the High Evolutionary, after seeing her husband Magnus use his magnetic powers for the first time. The twins are born, and as Mt. Wundagore is the prison of the Elder God Chthon, his residual energies alter Wanda and will later give her the ability to use magic in addition to her mutant abilities. When i first heard Olivia was in Iron Man 2 i thought and said Scarlett Witch straight away! Even if its just a cameo part, Scarlett Witch has a big connection to Tony and yes she does turn Avenger too.
Keven Sorbo as yes, the one and only Hercules =
Hercules is the son of Zeus, king of the gods of Olympus, and Alcmena, a mortal woman who lived about three thousand years ago. Recognizing the need for a son who would be powerful enough to defend both the Olympian gods and humanity from future dangers he foresaw, Zeus seduced Alcmena in the guise of her husband, King Amphitryon of Troezen. Thanks to Zeus' enchantment, Hercules was born with the potential for extraordinary strength, which he first displayed before he was even one year old by strangling two serpents which attacked him. As an adult, Hercules is best known for his celebrated Twelve Labors, which were performed in part to prove his worthiness for immortality to Zeus. Keven Sorbo is Hercules!
Andewale-Akinnuoye Agbaje as Black Panther =
The Black Panther is the ceremonial title given to the chief of the Panther Tribe of the African nation of Wakanda. In addition to ruling the country, he is also chief of its various tribes (collectively referred to as the Wakandas). The Panther uniform is a symbol of office (head of state) and is used even during diplomatic missions.
The Black Panther is entitled to the use of a heart-shaped herb that grants the person who consumes it enhanced strength, agility, and perception. The present-day bearer of the Black Panther mantle is T'Challa, who has had a lengthy career as a superhero, including a longstanding membership in the Avengers and yes i had already thought Andewale for Panther but got beat by the news, but what great news a Black Panther movie, perfect casting!
Vision has got to be CGI with Michael Rosenbaum's voice =
The robot Ultron is the creator of the Vision, a type of android he calls a "synthezoid", for use against Ultron's own creator, Dr. Henry Pym (Ant-Man/Giant Man/Goliath/Yellowjacket) and Pym's wife, Janet van Dyne (the Wasp) of the superhero team the Avengers. Ultron sends his new servant to lead the Avengers into a trap. The Wasp is the first to encounter the synthezoid, and describes it as a "vision" while trying to escape. Adopting the name, the Vision is convinced by the Avengers to turn against Ultron. After learning how Ultron created him using the brain patterns of then-deceased Simon Williams (Wonder Man), the Vision becomes a member of the team.
Chris Pine as Black Knight =
Professor Nathan Garrett, a biologist, is the direct descendant of Sir Percy, and found Sir Percy's tomb and the ebony blade. Garrett's evil tendencies make him unworthy of wielding the sword, and he is shunned by Sir Percy's ghost. An embittered Garrett then devises an arsenal of medieval weapons that employ modern technology and genetically engineers and creates a winged horse called Aragorn. Calling himself the Black Knight, Garrett embarks on a life of crime to spite his ancestor. After a battle with the hero Giant-Man Garrett joins the supervillain team the Masters of Evil at the request of master villain Baron Zemo. After two unsuccessful battles with the Avengers, Garrett is mortally wounded while trying to kill the superhero Iron Man. A dying Garrett summons his nephew, Dane Whitman, reveals his secret identity to Whitman, and repents for his life of crime. Whitman then adopts the identity of the Black Knight himself and becomes a Avenger and Pine should adopt the mantle too, perfect for Black Knight.
Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow =
Natasha was born in Stalingrad (now Volgograd), Russia. The first and best-known Black Widow is a Soviet agent trained as a spy, martial artist, and sniper, and outfitted with an arsenal of high-tech weaponry, including a pair of wrist-mounted energy weapons dubbed her "Widow's Bite". She wears no costume during her first few appearances but simply evening wear and a veil. Romanova eventually defects to the U.S. for reasons that include her love for the reluctant-criminal-turned-superhero archer Hawkeye.
Lucky Hawkeye, and yes i was with Scarlett as the Black Widow from the start, great actress and she will so pull off the character in Iron Man 2.
Paul Adelstein as Swordsman =
The original Swordsman, Jacques Duquesne, trained Hawkeye after accepting him, but rejecting his brother Barney to a circus, where the two were working as carnival performers alongside the archer called Trick Shot. When Hawkeye accidentally discovered that the Swordsman was stealing money, the two fought, the Swordsman leaving Hawkeye believing him dead.
Paul from Prison Break and Private Practice could easily play the part.
Summer Glau as Mantis =
Mantis is the half-Vietnamese, half-German daughter of Gustav Brandt—Libra—and was born in Hue, Vietnam. In her childhood, her father leaves her in Vietnam at the Temple of the alien Priests of Pama, a sect of the Kree. The Kree believe she might become the Celestial Madonna and mate with the eldest Cotati on Earth to become the mother of the Celestial Messiah, "the most important being in the universe."
Kelsey Grammer as The Beast =
Henry Philip McCoy was born in Dundee, Illinois, in the United States, to Norton and Edna McCoy. His father, Norton McCoy, is employed at a local nuclear power plant before Henry's birth and was once exposed to intense nuclear radiation, which appears to have caused his son's mutation. Hank is born with a vast intellect, unusually long arms and legs, and unusually large hands and feet for a human; in fact, his body's proportions are comparable to those of a gorilla. Kelsey Grammer did such a great job in X3 he's the obvious choice really.
George Eads as Wonder Man =
Simon Williams is the son of rich industrialist Sanford Williams, owner of Williams Innovations. Simon inherits the munitions factory after his father's death, but over time the company's profits fall due to its biggest competitor, Tony Stark. On the advice of his brother Eric, Simon tries to embezzle funds from his company but is caught and incarcerated. Simon blames Stark for his failure and readily accepts the proposition of master villain Baron Zemo, who requires a pawn to infiltrate the Avengers. The desperate Simon Williams agrees and, after being freed, is transformed into an ion-powered being with superhuman powers. Called Wonder Man by Zemo, he is then sent to meet and join the Avengers, with instructions to betray them at a critical moment so that Zemo's Masters of Evil can destroy the Avengers, but that's a whole other story he is now a true Avenger and George Eads most famous for CSI is darn perfect for Wonder Man.
Moon Bloodgood as Tigra =
Okay i think i will stop with the histories of the characters because i don't really know how much you can actually put in these articles so better be safe lol and i think i got through the main Avengers anyway.
So after her performance in the latest Terminator i think Moon Bloodgood would own the Tigra character easy.
She-Hulk as =
Someone who looks the part, it could be anyone of the female WWE superstars, one with good acting skills of course. Who do you guys think it should be, let me know?
Gary Dourdan as Falcon =
Captain America's best pal could be played by the talented Gary Dourdan, he's in CSI playing the character Warrick Brown, he is a talent all on his own.
Vin diesel as Namor =
You may think what? But he would be great for the part, though he'd have to grow his hair a little have blue eye contacts and change his way of acting for the role but he would so pull it off no problem and unless Marvel went with a Unknown he would be my only choice.
Joe Mantegna as Dr Druid =
Joe from Criminal Minds could easily play the part of Druid hands down, catch him in the show.
Laura Vandervoort as Mockingbird =
Hawkeye's girl! She's trained by S.H.I.E.L.D and a great eye popping Avenger, Laura Vandervoort from Smallville and the upcoming V television series is too perfect for the part, oh yeah!
Michael Gambon as Jarvis =
The Avengers butler should be played by the talented Mr Gambon, he is in the latest Harry Potter movie but his career is vast and we can only hope he'd consider the role of our favorite butler.
Don Cheadle as War Machine =
I got to honest with you i was routing for Howard to come back but lets hope Don can pull this part off, he is a good actor so im not too worried. If you have not seen War Machine yet check out Brent's and Teabag's articles on the Iron Man 2 news, very cool.
