Andrew Garfield Says THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Is "Much More Fun"

Andrew Garfield thinks that the addition of writers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci (writers of the Transformers, and the new Star Trek films) to the second film, will give the audience an even better film than the previous installment.

We get to build on a foundation we set with the first one, says Garfield. "We get to really expand and explore. Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci wrote something Layered and rich, and full of twists, and turns, and dimensions. And I think it's going to be a much more fun picture.

At least there are new writers on this movie. Whoever wrote the previous film does not understand Spider-Man.

Wasn't Electro a female? Or am I mistaking something?

@ tajin....no electro was not a female... so cue we have a non true spiderman fan here. and the editing in the first movie was atrocious. absolutely god awful. they could have made it a halfway decent film, if they literally trimmed every scene of stupid lines, bad acting, and stutters, and added the very important deleted scenes.

All of Spider-man jokes in TASM are not funny.

I don't understand the hate perhaps y'all saw a different movie than me but Amazing Spider-Man was better than the old trilogy combined (and those were my favorites growing up) but we finally got a Spider-Man who cracked jokes and was a believable Peter Parker not some cheesy, campy dood still will love Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 but Garfield has got this in the bag same with Webb...these companies are stepping it up all because Avengers is now the 3rd highest grossing movie and what Nolan did with the Dark Knight series all about the money and the better they are to the source material ie what makes us buy the comics in the first place...is what they should stick to...the general audience can handle the fantastical ellent of comics I feels it in my bones...GotG will make lots of money okay ending rant now.....

Now......have a good one everybody drink some beer and enjoy the wonders of comics :)

I'm very hopeful for this film, I liked the first TASM, but it was a bit of a shock to my system to see a different version of Peter. I'm looking forward to seeing Andrew getting a chance to play a more light-hearted.

I sure hope that it does more for me than the first one. I'm not sure that Kurtzman and Orci inspire a great deal of faith, but I suppose that they are fun, and at least this time around the story will be breaking new ground.

@Jollem

Editing is the process of selecting and preparing written, visual, audible, and film media used to convey information. The editing process can involve correction, condensation, organization, and other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate, and complete work.

After Peter has his Wolverine Bathroom moment he freaks out at the spider in his room, (I think he even still had his tooth brush in hand), a couple of seconds later he's up close and personal with a spider and seems fine.

The exclusion of Connors back story makes him unsympathetic, and his motives are unclear - why continue using the formula if it mutates you, and just forget about your hand. Secondly why would the Lizard stop Ratha from using the formula on veterans but then go on to try and infect the whole city.

Spider-sense was all over the place, he can snatch a fly out of mid air, catch balls without looking and sense danger on the bridge from the Stacey's apartment. Conversely the most dangerous thing in the movie, The Lizard, sneaks up on him in the sewers. Add to that Spidey swings directly into the path of a helicopter when he has 6 functioning senses, its one thing not seeing it because of the buildings but not hearing it or Spidey sense not kicking in?

Flash Thompson's change of heart was just glossed over

I'd say the editing was questionable, the film was not organized well in some parts and was inconsistent.

I loved TASM, but half the movie is the origin. Again. That's what really irritates me whenever I watch. His origin could've been told within 5 minutes in the opening titles because honestly the movie should've started with him already as Spiderman. Fortunately the second one looks good so I'm hoping we can make up for lost time. Can't wait to see Spidey vs Electro.
