$10,000 Donated By Hugh Jackman On Behalf Of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Cast & Crew

After production wrapped on X-Men: DOFP, Jackman treated his co-stars and director Bryan Singer to a showing of the movie The Butler, but that’s not all -- according to a report in the Montreal Gazette, Jackman also made a donation of $10,000 to the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Despite his character's catchphrase being “I’m the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn’t very nice,” Hugh Jackman is actually very nice. Not only did Hugh Jackman treat his co-stars and director Bryan Singer with a showing of the new movie The Butler, he also made a huge donation of ten grand to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness was actually going to make the donation online, but she had trouble with the submission form, so she wound up calling the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. She wound up donating $10,000 on behalf of her, her husband, and the cast and crew of X-Men. Kim Fraser, a spokeswoman for the hospital foundation, says the Australian star and his wife made the online donation to the hospital on Tuesday. Fraser said Jackman's wife called the foundation and was helped to complete the donation.
We're absolutely thrilled, Fraser said, noting that Jackman is known for philanthropic gestures elsewhere. It's so generous. It came out of the blue.
But that's not all he did. Along with making this huge donation and taking his fellow cast members and director out for a movie, Jackman also stopped by a Montreal pie shop, TA Pies, and bought a bunch of their authentic Australian pies for the cast and crew of the movie. Jackman then tweeted an instagram pic with the owners and called their product "the best meat pies in the world."

someone like him CAN do stuff like that, with all the money Fox has paid all these years to play Wolverine.

would be interesting to know how much his X-Men cast partners have recieved for the same movies.

10k to Hugh is like one of us buying one of those shamrocks that go on a bar mirror for a buck.

Still, not bad.

Say what you want about the x-men movie or Hugh Hackman's depiction of wolverine, who think he does an outstanding job, but he is genuinely of the few actors in Hollywood who is enthusiastic for his roles and a really nice all around guy.

He didn't have to do it. So it's a kind gesture. We're so obsessed with mocking people, that a donation to a good cause now justifies scrutiny? How often do you guys buy those shamrocks at the gas station? Man does a nice thing. I respect that.

Did the people commenting on how he's getting 100 million to be Wolverine read the follow up story?

He denied it saying he'd only play Wolverine again if the fans wanted him to.

It's complete bullshit. Don't be ignorant.

Hugh Jackman is one cool dude. All the behind the scenes things you ever hear about him is that he's just as nice privately as he is publicly.

Definitely hasn't let all the wealth and fame get to his head.

What a classy fellow. It's a shame we can't get more NBA, MLB, and NFL stars to donate to foundations like Jackman did. Oh wait, they're spending all their money on PEDs.

Sort of off the subject...Did anyone hear or read what Pete Rose said about A-Roid's 1 year suspension? "I picked the wrong vice. I should've gotten into alcohol, drugs, or beating on my wife. If you do those three, you get a second chance." Yeah, this society has some serious issues...volumes even.

Hey, he could have donated nothing so I don't understand why people on here are still managing to find something to bitch about. Jackman is a class act, end of story.
