Petition Online for Armie Hammer to become Captain America!!!

With all the buzz about actors to play Captain America, plus everyones articles on their favorite Steve Rogers, i just had to put in my two cents and its criminal Marvel Studios that you don't have Armie Hammer as Captain America on the short list. CBMers, come and have a real read about the talented actor and some others too...

Armie Hammer:

Armand Douglas "Armie" Hammer (born August 28, 1986 Los Angeles USA). He is an American film and television star actor.

Hammer was raised on the Westside of Los Angeles. He has appeared in the television series The Reaper (the devils son), Arrested Development, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, and Desperate Housewives. He was hand-picked by filmmaker George Miller after a long search to star in Justice League: Mortal as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The film was to be directed by Miller, but he left the project.

Hammer played the famous Christian evangelist Billy Graham in Billy: The Early Years which premiered in October 2008. The film garnered Hammer a “Faith and Values Award” nomination in the Grace Award category, which is awarded for the Most Inspiring Performance in Movie or Television.

Hammer's most recent film appearance was as Harrison Bergeron in 2081, the film adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's short story by that name.

Armie Hammer was born (again) Los Angeles, California, USA. He's an all American blonde blue eyed guy. He is 6' 5" just a little over Steve Rogers but at least he's not 5 foot nothing, he would have a great presence on screen. Hammer is a really good actor, probably better known to some as the son of the devil on "The Reaper" TV show. He is in his twenties, perfect for a World War Two Steve Rogers/Captain America, he looks just like Steve Rogers, like he's jumped right out of the Marvel/Timely comic book pages, and better still he still has that 'unknown' factor about him, perfect for the start up of the Captain America franchise!

Hammer is currently filming the movie "The Social Network" and what can i say, this is Steve Rogers!

Anyway if you agree, just say "YES" on this, thank you and keep on collecting! ; )

Others who make a great Steve Rogers (In no order whatsoever):

Scott Porter:

Matthew Scott Porter (born July 14, 1979) is an American singer and actor known on his role as Jason Street in the NBC television drama Friday Night Lights. His character was injured during a football game in the pilot episode and became a quadriplegic. The character was inspired by David Edwards, a Texas high school football player who suffered a spinal cord injury in a game in 2003.

Porter was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but later moved to Winter Park, Florida. Prior to joining the cast of Friday Night Lights, Porter played Matthew in the original cast of the Off-Broadway hit Altar Boyz. He can be heard on the show's cast recording. In 2006, he temporarily took over the role of Casey Hughes in the soap opera As the World Turns, a role originally portrayed by Zach Roerig. He also plays the role of Colin Thompson, the more visible part of the duo that fronts the fictional band PoP!, in the movie Music and Lyrics (Warner Brothers, 2007). Scott also played the part of 'Rex' in the film Speed Racer (2008) which was directed and written by the Wachowski brothers. He played Bobby in the remake of Prom Night and Ben Wheatly in Bandslam, released in August 2009. In the latter film, he co-starred alongside Aly Michalka, Gaelan Connell, Vanessa Hudgens, and Lisa Kudrow among others. In the same year, he was paired also paired with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star Alexis Bledel in their romantic-comedy filmed The Good Guy which premiered on Trebicca Film Festival Porter is also a big fan of comic books and has auditioned for several comic book hero roles. He is also purportedly a big fan of Heroclix. Porter performed and sung the song Someone To Fall back On in the battle of the band finale in the film Bandslam and his song Pretend included to Bandslam (soundtrack). He was part of his high school's choral department and was a founding member of the groups 4:2:Five and Mosaic. Eventually performed off-broadway with another A Cappella band named "Toxic Audio".

In 2010, he appeared in the feature film Dear John, adapted from the book of the same name.

This guy could be Steve, he has everything and a bonus, he still has that unknown factor about him.

Ryan McPartlin:

Ryan McPartlin (born July 3, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor.

Born and raised by Steve and Lois in Glen Ellyn, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago). McPartlin graduated with a degree in speech communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was a member of the Fighting Illini football team, and was awarded a letter for playing in the 1994 season.
After graduating, McPartlin decided to spend six months in Australia and New Zealand to explore the outback and decide which career path he should follow. It became clear that he wanted to be an actor, so he moved to Southern California to pursue his dream.

McPartlin spent years as an Abercrombie and Fitch model and he's first acting role was on The Nanny, alongside Fran Drescher, as a Leonardo DiCaprio-type character in a Titanic spoof. McPartlin has been mostly known for his role as Hank Bennett on the popular soap opera Passions, replacing Dalton James from April 2001 until April 2004. He made a brief appearance in the series L.A. 7 as "Ryan".

McPartlin worked with Drescher again as Riley Martin on the television sitcom Living with Fran. He played her much younger live-in boyfriend. Living with Fran was cancelled on May 17, 2006, after two seasons. McPartlin originally auditioned for the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the movie Superman Returns, but he lost the role to Brandon Routh.

He is currently playing Devon "Captain Awesome" Woodcomb on NBC's Chuck and would make a great Steve Rogers, i'm sure Josh and Marvel Freshman would agree.

Garret Hedlund:

Garrett John Hedlund (born September 3, 1984) is an American actor known for his role in the movie Four Brothers.

Hedlund was born in Roseau, Minnesota. He was discovered while attending a ProScout event in Phoenix, Arizona.

Garrett made his acting debut in 2004 as Patroclus in Troy. The film, which starred Brad Pitt, was released May 14, 2004 to mixed reviews, but debuted #1 at the US Box Office and went on to gross over $487 million worldwide. He also starred as Don Billingsley in the Teen Drama film Friday Night Lights in 2004.
He starred as Jack Mercer alongside Mark Wahlberg in the Action/Crime film Four Brothers. The film, which received mixed reviews, was a box office success earning worldwide $92,494,381.

In 2009, he was rumored to appear in the independent film Hectic as Louis. It was announced in 2009 that he would play the leading role in the highly anticipated film Tron Legacy, a sequel to the 1982 film Tron.

The guy is tough cookie and can pull off Steve Rogers easy, plus he looks like the super soldier type. I did cat this guys a long time back as Winter Soldier (Bucky), but he he did have a stint as the new Captain America too, so i can see him as Steve Rogers.

Teddy Sears:

Edward M. "Teddy" Sears (born April 6, 1977) is a American television actor, best known for his roles on One Life to Live and the TNT series Raising the Bar.

Sears was born in Washington, D.C and raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland in a close-knit family that can be traced back to Plymouth, Massachusetts in the year 1630. In high school, he was captain of the varsity football team and was awarded all-state honors as a tight end, as well as receiving a national top-ten ranking in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sears played varsity football for the University of Maryland carrying on the family tradition of athletic excellence inspired by his great-grandfather who won a gold medal in the 1912 Olympics and again by his aunt who took home a bronze in the 1956 Olympics. He transferred and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in business management in 1999.

Sears' business career was sidetracked when he arrived in New York after graduation. After his first audition he wound up with a 2-year contract role on the daytime series One Life to Live. Then, after several appearances on the Law & Order franchise and Whoopi, he decided to pursue a two-year acting program with one of New York's top teachers, William Esper. This "serious" training ironically led to hysterical comedy stints on The David Letterman Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Teddy landed his first studio film when he flew himself out to Los Angeles to read for an unrelated project.

He co-starred on the TNT original series Raising the Bar portraying public defender Richard Patrick Woolsley.

Recently, Sears appeared in Joss Whedon's Dollhouse and i reckon an up and coming actor with big things ahead of him.

Many thanks to Wikipedia and others for the information.

LEEE777 - Well there you have it, and whoever they pick, i hope we all like him, thanks for reading.

Hey... even if you like some of the others above or have your own favorites, if you think he could pull off a young World War II CAP sign up!

He should be on the short list!

Lee-You should become this kid's manager.

Its nice to see you have faith in him but his name is never mentioned anywhere else for the role, never. He just looks too soft for the role. He should get at least a screen test though.

Scott Porter FTW!!!!!

Keep up the good fight

Mmmm...Jensen, yummy...

Armie Hammer hmmmm...meh? I just remembered, I need to buy some laundry detergent, thanks for the reminder LEEE!

@LEEE. Seriously, what is with the one option pole? I love how it only has 4 votes for YES I wonder how many NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! it would have if there was that option?

I just don't get it LEEE. He sounds like a tool, he looks like a prissy Douche. His acting skills are lacking. And I saw Billy, the award it won was because there were no other decent chrisitan films that year! ANd he was bad in it, I mean BAD.

I honestly don't understand why you like him and hate Jensen. Give me a reason, try and persuade me to your side. And don't give me any of the "Tackles is Gay!" bullshit, i want some hard evidence.

Here are the pros and cons of Jensen:

Pro:
-He is American
-He is a good actor, as evidenced by Supernatural
-He can play a soldier- His character of Dean is basically a soldier, he was raised in a militaristic way.
-Physically he is perfect for the role.
-He is an experienced actor, but still has teh unknown quality that won't allow his name to overshadow the role as a big star like Brad Pitt would.
-He is attractive
-He has that wholesome all American feeling about him
-A strong voice
-A strong chin, which is important with that mask
-Can effectively portay a leader
-Good in action scenes.
-Cheap.

Cons:

-While in great shape, he is not built enough, but excersisse can fix that.
-Has the wrong hair color
-Is unknown
-Is approaching Johnston's age limit.
-My Bloody Valentine.
-Has played mainly cocky roles, whereas Cap is reserved and strong
-Season 6 of Supernatural

Now give me a list of pros adn cons about Arm&Hammer. Be honset, I was about Jensen

I agree with everything Phoenix said. Nail on the head, for Ackles and Hammer.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I just don't think Hammer is a strong enough actor. And he looks too effeminate.

Hmm Armie Hammer as Cap.....I can kinda see it. I mean he has the looks (even though he kinda looks...girly), the height ( 6'5 that's taller than Chris Hemsworth!), but I havn't really seen him act. I mean this Armie Hammer guy looks 1000% more like cap than than Shrek (aka John Krasinki), and Tween idol pretty boy Chace Crawford. Though I still like Jensen Ackles and Ryan Mcpartlin better. :)

@citizen9602-
Chris Pine= Way too much like William Shatner in his own right= oh, HAY-Ell-No!
Ryan Mcpartlin= Mmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyy...maybe.
Jensen Ackles= **pulls down his pants**"PUDDING!"= I'm sorry, but you're not a fan of the Cap if you keep suggesting this guy.
Chad Michael Murray= got any recent photos?= Build him up real good and who knows.
Robert Buckley= This guy does mostly voices right?= MAN this guy is so unknown he's off the radar! Gonna have to say no until further developments.
Chace Crawford= JEEZEze he's obviously in his twenties.= TOO much of a pretty boy, sorry, no.
John Krasinski= what-the-[frick]? Why is he even a choice?= Please, no...PLEASE-FOR-GOODNESS-SAKE, NO!
Scott Porter= dude...his shoulders are slim.= Unless you can magically broaden his shoulders another good couple of inches and build him up good...Who knows?
Mike Vogel= Not tall enough.= No, I'm sorry.
Michael Cassidy= His face is WAY off.= No-Way.
Garrett Hedlund= Right age, right height, broad shoulders, needs to work on a more determined and manly facial expression and he could have it...plus he has to really work out.= Maybe leaning towards yes. Sorry everybody else.
Wilson Bethel= Does anybody have any better pictures of this guy? Does he even have blue eyes? What is his build like when he's not in the suits and all the baggy clothes? He could probably play Steve Rogers before he is given the soldier serum.= Another big maybe leaning towards yes.

r0r5ch4ch84 - 3/1/2010, 7:02 PM
But I agree with Leee, gentlemen. Armie Hammer with a very built-up physique to play Cap. All they would have to do to complete the image is add some face prosthetic to his jawline like they did with the actor who played Juggernaut (in XMen3: The Last Stand) and he would be perfect. I mean his voice is right, he's the right visual ideal (blue eyes, tall, good smile, young without looking too much like a frick'n pretty-boy) and the improvements needed are minor. Just get him to work on on a regimen like they did for the actors in 300 plus some weight training, and there you go. They would have it nailed. But then we would have to have someone to play the skinny, sickly pre-Cap Steve Rogers.
I'm gonna have to disagree with Scott Porter as any choice, though. His voice is all wrong.

I can't wait for Marvel to cast Captain America, that way I don't have to see anymore campaigning for the role. Thanks for the info, on Armie Hammer, but just because he looks perfect for the role doesn't mean he'll do a good job. I haven't heard his name on anything connected to Captain America. I'm willing to bet Marvel is going to throw a curve ball at everyone on who will be playing Captain America. I think with all the casting auditions Marvel has done for the role they haven't found what their looking for. Which is why their hasn't been cast announcement for Captain America for this long compared to how quick it was for Marvel to cast Thor. I'm willing to bet they might go with a known actor for the role, may not be as big as Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt or someone at their level, but someone who has worked in a lot of co staring movies, that ppl have seen.

How does playing an obnoxious Son of the Devil prove that he "is" a young Steve Rogers? I'm not even asking that out of my dislike for Baking Soda as Cap, but just in general, how? His character was basically the opposite of who Cap is, he was lazy and obnoxious, while Cap is determined, strong willed, and stoic.

He's the perfect age too, great deep voice for CAP, blonde, tall, blue eyes, got that wartime look and the main thing is he's everything MARVEL wants and needs!!!

He's got the UNKNOWN factor all through him and he is an up and coming big star!!!

Whew lol.

All i'm saying is...

He deserves a screen test!!!

P.S. This is a petition, not a poll lol and to your older question, why not? Ackles has a petition further down, fairs fair...
