Douglas Trumbull gave a presentation in Toronto screening a 70mm print of
2001: A Space Odyssey, he showed off a number of never-before-seen images from the production that will make their way into Trumbull and Larson's behind-the-scenes photo book. The seventeen minutes of the film cut by Kubrick were found in good condition in a hangar in Kansas.
Warner Brothers pulled the plug on their documentary,
2001: Behind the Infinite—The Making of a Masterpiece.
Trumbull also said that he has no idea what Warner Bros. plans to do with the extra footage, but the cut scenes are Perfectly Preserved in CMY component negative.
LEEE777 - Well personally I'm thinking Warner Bros. cancelled the documentary for the sole reason of thinking theres big money in this if they release
2001: A Space Odyssey with the extra 17 minutes in it, but thats just me guessing, what do you all think?
