Created by Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa and released August of 1007 by Teshkeel Comics, The 99 isn’t your ordinary superheros, there the First Muslim superheros and there about to branch out away from the comics and onto your TV set. The 99 is about a group of Teenagers and adults who have 99 special gemstones that contain the powers. The concept of The 99 is based on the 99 attributes of Allah. Many of these names refer to characteristics that can be possessed by human individuals. For example – generosity, strength, faithfulness, wisdom are all virtues encouraged by a number of faiths. The 99 will make its Debut on The Hub ( Formerly Discovery Kids) In January (2011). This Highly criticized Muslim Superhero group was praised by President Obama for teaching kids to be tolerant of the Muslim faith. By saying “These Islamic butt-kickers are ready to bring truth, justice and indoctrination to impressionable Western minds,” she says, citing the aforementioned burqa requirement (”hair-hiding head scarves are mandatory for five characters, not including burqa babe Batina the Hidden“)
