The interstellar war between the Autobots and Decepticons shifts onto overdrive following the discovery of Sentinel Prime in this sequel from director Michael Bay. Only a precious handful of officials in the government and military realize that the 1969 moon mission was the result of an event that threatened profound repercussions for the entire human race. When the Apollo 11 astronauts discover the wrecked remains of Sentinel Prime on the surface of our natural satellite, they bring him back to planet Earth. But Sentinel Prime wasn't the only alien object on the moon, and when a malevolent new enemy makes its presence known, only the Autobots can save mankind from certain destruction.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon hits theaters June 29th!

You don't need faith, just BELIEVE that it will destroy the box office this year unlike Green Lantern!

I'm excited for this movie. I just hope Sentinel Prime is a cool character and Shockwave is done right (also want to see a lot more Soundwave).

I was really hoping intially that the fire truck was maybe Ultra Magnus and the Ferrari was Hot Rod. The space shuttle should have been Omega Supreme too but I get that they can't afford to do everything! I hope there's a 4th one and that they don't take like 5-6 years to reboot.

Spielberger and Bay did a real BAD Job with the transformers! They look like Biconical and my poor son thinks they are transformers. He has a Biconical that he used as his Fallen. Decepticon transform in to balls of foil. While the clunky screw dropping Autobots, have faces like house appliances. I get the bring them to the real world idea. But other then them TRYING to make Prime look a lil like Prime, just a little. This thing in my fan boy eyes is not transformers no more then Holly Berry was Catwoman. I want to see more then GM cars as transformers. I will not see this crap!! I’ll wait 15 to 20 more years when a fan boy takes on the project. [frick] BayBurge!!

Dude, if they made CGI Transformers that looked like the cartoons or classic toys it would look lame. You can't expect that they make them just like the toy. The FX are practical and realistic for how they transform.

These films have the best FX I've ever seen! And if you think the stories are lame, watch some classic episodes. I bet you fanboys would like Quintessons and that stuff, huh?

ROTF may get a lot of hate (and yes a lot fo the college scenes and twins are not necessary) but it's true to the spirits of Transformers.

I suppose this is an old Autobot, hence the beard, mustache, crow's feet, is he the Gandalf of Transformers? Maybe he is voiced by Sir Ian McKellan

The actual Transformers G1 cartoons were even sillier than most people claim Bayt's movies are. Just try watching a few episodes back to back and you'll cringe how badly they aged and how aimed at small boys they were. Thank god for these movies, they're entertaining, spectacular and they have giant robots hitting each other and that's all I require from Transformers!

@ceejay

Yeah I'm constantly frustrated by how deified the G1 cartoon is. Seriously, go back and watch it, it's so obviously pandering to kids and is a glorified toy commercial, the new movies pander to blockbuster audiences, I don't see the difference.

Bayformers may be dumb, but so long as you go into it for big robots punching each other in the face you should be satisfied as I am.

CapFan79 - 6/24/2011, 11:56 AM
@Ceejay, I agree they're silly but I still watch the old ones with my son.

I was surprised to see several visual and story elements from the 2 films that are similar to the 1st season of the G1 cartoon. It was always about the cool transforming toys, not the story. The best thing about the show was certain character relationships like Megatron and Starscream. "You've failed me again Starscream!" was a great moment in the first one. They need more of that.

Have you seen the old test footage? It was classic and sick. This is CRAP!!! Bay craps this movie out daily!!! Great FX But CRAP!! The 1st Hulk had great FX but it was CRAP! The only thing that makes this work, is the fact the fans are from ages 5 to 10 yrs old. And the toys sale like hot cakes. Look at Strarscream!! With the chicken legs! Just look!! Sorry If you like this movie or movies you have to be born in the 80's or 90's. You ain't no OG!!
@ TokuPrime
PLEASE!! When have critics ever been right! They get paid!! My wife worked in TV for years!! It's all BS!!

Thanks for posting the reviews (although they look like one liners you see in commercials). The only one I know is the guy from DC. Glad to see the 3D is likely worth it.

@Ripper, I agree about Starscream (he's probably the worst looking G1 character that was changed) but I'm 31 and like the films and so do all my friends my age.

Ditto! Born in '79!

@Ripper

I'm a child of the 80's. Transformers is practically a direct ranslation compared to GI Joe, Masters of the Universe or other 80's toons that have been made into a films.

Great find! I have high hopes for this movie. I think it's going to be great! I wish people wouldn't get so worked up about it not being like G1. It wouldn't work right if it was just like the cartoon. I am a fan of G1 and always have been, and I think Bay's adaptation is great. I totally agree with CEEJAY as well :)
Ceejay
Ceejay - 6/24/2011, 12:53 PM
@Ripper - I was born in '67, watched all the cartoons, read the comics you name it! But I'm under no delusion that those simplistically drawn versions from the 80's done for time saving and ease nor the versions in the comic for that matter were anything but basic! They aint designs that can hold up to a real live action version, they're basically rectangles with most of the characters looking the same with some different colours and a chest-plate representing their vehicle!

Fans like you are stuck in child mode when it comes to Transformers, the rest of us can see the adaptations of the concept for a much more plausible and realistic representation beyond a simple transforming toy!

I LOVE you Ceejay and Toku. You guys get it. Just because they dont get made the way one person wants or had an idea of, its bad. So childish. People like that will never really be able to enjoy something because they are too busy tearing it down. I loved all the transformers movies simply for the fact that somebody actually put them on the big screen. I cant wait for this movie, already have my tickets!

Honest question... How can anyone say this movie looks like it sucks already? There have been about 10 trailers/tv spots that have shown a total of about 3 seconds of plot. lol. The trailers have ben ALL ACTION! If you don't like action, then i understand. If you do like action, then what have you seen that makes you think this movie sucks...?

Hells yeah! I love giving the ladies the old '79!

@Ceejay

Correct. I don't understand why anyone thinks these are intended to be more than just robot action or why you would want them to be more than that. For me I just enjoy that the movies push the limits of my home theater!

Real Steel appears to be attempting to capitalize on TFormers but it looks like it'll suck because it's trying to have a serious plot.

You know everyone keeps talking about how great the cgi and special affects are but alot of it is real. When the movie was being filmed last year they really did blow up cars and buildings. Even the people jumping out of planes and buildings are real!
marvel72
marvel72 - 6/24/2011, 2:30 PM
i think this movie looks shit hot,but why do the robots need facial hair.

i know they're "robots in disguise" but isn't just being a car,truck or plane enough to blend in.

i think looking like a human being is abit much,i maybe wrong.
Wildaniel
Wildaniel - 6/24/2011, 2:41 PM
@Marvel72 you know in the cartoon from the 80s Alpha Trion had facial hair, others too.

That's the spirit witty =P Transformers has never been an especially deep franchise, comparatively most comic book franchises are oscar material, they generally have a point to make of some kind (Spider-man: Puberty, X-men: Race relations, Hulk: Initially nuclear power but now it's more about the duality of the psyche) Transformers has always and will always be to sell toys, so just enjoy the movies for what they are =)

Looking at those reviews makes me wanna...

I know, enjoy the franchise for what it was. But after this whole Megan Fox dilemma I've unfortunately kept up to date on, I can't back Michael Bay anymore.

Plus, there's no actual reviews out. Look on RottenTomatoes, and click on Transformers: Dark on the Moon. You'd figure a film of this magnitude would be pouring with reviews by now, especially since it's coming out in four more days.

@ Digitaria51 - 6/24/2011, 12:22 PM

I love Charlie Day myself, and I can't wait to see him in Horrible Bosses. Thank God he's got a movie career now. Man, would he make an excellent Weasel for that Deadpool movie.

I THINK THIS MOVIE WILL BE AWESOME, I JUST WISHED THEY DIDN'T CALL HIM SENTINEL PRIME AND JUST CALLED HIM ALPHA TRION, NOT ONLY WOULD IT SPEAK TO THE HARDCORE FANS BUT IT WOULD MAKE A FITTING END TO BAY'S RUN. WANNA BET A FOURTH INSTALLMENT WITH A NEW DIRECTOR WILL HAVE THE DINOBOTS..
