Unionjack: My thoughts exactly. I expected to see two comic-related movies in the top 10. I was really surprised to see The King's Speech on this list. That's not a movie that I would believe to appeal to the types of poeple who usually 'pirate' movies.

I'll admit I haven't seen any of those movies except Thor(I saw in the theater and bought the DVD). But Sucker Punch? That movie was so bad I couldn't even finish it. And I only watched the first 10 to 15 minutes.

@ScottPilgrim I have to disagree with you about Captain America. It was one the best comic movies I have seen in the last couple years.

LOL with all the hate on X-Men First Class you would think it would be on this list. Same with Green Lantern. Im surprised that Captain America is not on the list. All the comicbookmovies this year were AWESOME!!! Green Lantern was ok.

The movies on this list are there more because the quality of the bootleg than the quality of the movie itself. Plus, some of them had hype surrounding them before they came out (suckerpunch). Relax guys, Cap and Thor were both good movies. Though I will say both were better in the beginning of the movies and tailed off at the end. Hopefully, Marvel was taking notes and has fixed that for the Avengers.

granted some may download because they didn't want to pay to see it,but this could also be the case of people wanting to have a copy of the film after seeing it as well, harry potter 7 part 2 is the highest grossing film of the year but 6 million still downloaded it.

best cbm of 2011

1st captain america the first avenger
2nd thor
3rd x-men first class
4th green lantern

piracy can never be stopped but can be controlled. Studios like WB,Paramount and others are trying to release dvd and blu rays within the 2 months of the movies release, but still piracy sucks coz people work so hard for these movies and some movies like sucker punch would have been profitable if those were not pirated so many times and people went to watch it. Like red hood said in Under the red hood, YOU CANNOT STOP CRIME, BUT YOU CAN CONTROL IT or something like that

The last pirated movie I watched was Green Lantern and I must say it caused me to dislike the film even more than the film itself did. For that and moral reasons I don't download illegal films.

In Australia we pay between $21 - $25 for a 3D ticket and around $16 for normal 2D. Maybe the most expensive cost in the world... I stil go to the movies all the time but i can see why people wud want 2 download in oz! Especially when disney can still afford to pay Depp $50-$60 mil for pirates 4...

Ironically the people who complain about illegal downloads etc, are quite often the same ones that watch leaked trailers/footage online before they are legitimately released *cough*TDKR prologue*cough* ... Whereas with trailers/special events/prologues etc, the people who see them first-hand have (more often than not) paid to have the right to witness these things before anyone else... So all of you cheekies who're complaining about illegal downloads and also fall into the category of hypocrisy by watching the aforementioned online... are you diminishing sales of IMAX/comic-con tickets by doing so? Do you deserve to be punished $5000!?

I'm very much on the fence with this subject, don't get me wrong everyone should get what they deserve in their occupations, but I just find it an interesting discussion point...

I paid to see Thor twice in theaters and it was so good, I downloaded it. I still bought the DVD once it was released. So who am I hurting?

The movies that are on this list probably made the MOST money in the box office, and people are complaining that we're cutting into people's income?

I found it kind of funny when DCF says he does agree with theft an stealing then he gets reported for abuse.

What kind of place is this?

Who care if the studio has plenty of money. Stealing is still unjust. If all had that type of attitude no one would have wealth and no one could even make these kind of movies.

TheMalcontent - 12/28/2011, 9:11 AM
@R8ITR Wow. Really shows who you are. You're defending theft? Really? I don't think you would be just fine with people stealing from you, would you?

You seem to be wealthy if you have the luxury to be watching cbms and the life style to be posting comments on the Internet.

Many would think you are rich and deserve to be robbed. And they would.

You are just blasting off you hate because you are trying to defend your own theft.
