In an interview with international website UOL, actor Rodrigo Santoro confirmed that he is in talks to reprise the role of 'Xerxes' in the upcoming follow-up to 300, a fictionalized account of the battle between 300 Spartans and a Persian army. "It's not a sequel, but does not come before," said Santoro. "It's a film that takes place at about the same time of the battle that goes on in the first film."
The movie was titled 300: The Battle of Artemisia/Artemisium for a while, but last we heard it is currently untitled. Eva Green (Artemisia), Sullivan Stapleton (Themistocles) and Jamie Blackley (Calisto) are the other cast members in the film, which will be directed by Noam Murro. There has also been interest in Gerard Butler and Lena Headey to reprise their roles as King Leonidas and his wife, Queen Gorgo, in cameo appearances.
