Chris Hemsworth Discusses Possible SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN Spin-Off/Sequel

The Marvel's The Avengers star talks about rumored plans for a possible spin-off to Snow White & The Huntsman centering on his character, saying that he'd be up for it "If there's an audience for it".

It's been suggested recently that Universal Pictures is moving forward with a sequel/spin-off to their upcoming fantasy epic Snow White & The Huntsman, possibly starring The Huntsman (played by Chris Hemsworth). The studio even began talks with David Koepp to write a follow-up, though it's not confirmed if it'll be a direct sequel or a spin-off. While chatting with Collider, Hemsworth discusses the possibility of his character returning for a spin-off and whether or not he would want to do such a film.

“Yeah, sure, if there’s an audience for it and people wanna see it and there’s a great script and room to do something different with it, absolutely. I’ve heard probably the same rumors you have about possible sequels to this or prequels as far as the Huntsman’s storyline [goes]. We’re pretty elusive for the most of it; he begins having suffered some sort of trauma in a whole life before this point, and then at the end it’s left open as well. We had endless discussions about ‘where does he come from and why does he do this and what’s this about?’ and it all of a sudden opened up all these ideas about his whole life prior to this. I said, at one stage, ‘Maybe he could sort of spinoff into Cinderella's world and then Sleeping Beauty's, and he’s a Huntsman through the fairy tales,’ but that got shot down pretty quick (laughs).”

Hmmm, well, we'll see how the film does at the box office. If it does exceedingly well, then, yeah, by all means, go ahead. I wouldn't mind see a spin-off of The Huntsman. Plus, that's the only bad@ss character in that movie. So, yeah. :)

That is probably the only image of Stewart that has ever made me think 'I'd hit it'

In other news, Hemsworth is making $$$

@TonyEboy As we all know Snow White as a Disney character, this film is being distributed by Universal. If the other characters you are talking about are owned by Disney, the cameos and Marvel goals won't work. Original idea though.

@ Gusto -

I wouldn't.

But on topic, I think it'd be cool if the Hunstman aided and/or protected other well known fantasy characters in subsequent spin-offs/sequels.

@TonyEBoy Its not that hard to imagine darker "remakes" of the Disney. Mostly because Disney just jacked up some already pretty dark material into kiddie material. Check out the Brother's Grimm. A lot of the stories are cautionary stories not happily ever after stories

Spin off might be interesting. This one might be decent but its probably very girl power focused. Seems Snow gets a tiny amount of training in a short time and apparently is enough for her to be all Xena
