James Horner Signs On To Score ENDER'S GAME

The Amazing Spider-Man composer James Horner has been hired to score Summit/Lionsgate's upcoming sci-fi adaptation Ender's Game, directed by Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and starring Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley.

According to Film Music Reporter, composer James Horner has been hired to score Summit Entertainment/Lionsgate's upcoming science fiction tentpole Ender's Game, which is based on the classic Orson Scott Card novel. Best known for working on the likes of Titanic and Braveheart, Horner recently provided the score for Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man. Directed and written by Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Ender's Game follows Andrew "Ender" Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a genius strategist recruited by the government to help destroy an insect-like alien race. The film also stars Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, Sir Ben Kingsley and Viola Davis. Gigi Pritzker & Linda McDonough (Drive), Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek) Orson Scott Card, Lynn Hendee (The Tempest) and Robert Chartoff (Rocky) are all producing. Ender’s Game is set to hit theaters November 1st this year.

I still can't believe this is being directed by the man who made "X-Men Origins Wolverine." I would've taken Ratner over him...

hopefully he has more freedom this time and gets better critics than with Origins Wolverine. Fox was the main reason that movie was like it was

James Horner sucks? The Oscar winning composer behind such excellent scores as Titanic, Star Trek: Wrath Of Khan and Avatar? Just because he does one less than stellar soundtrack doesn't mean that he's suddenly awful.

The TASM score gets better with each listen, IMO. The opening track and the score in the scene SuspenseSmith posted are particularly unique.
