Luke Evans Signs On To Play THE CROW

We finally have our new Eric Draven! After several actors have been linked to the remake, Fast & Furious 6's Luke Evans is set to play the title role in Relativity Media's new take on The Crow, which begins filming early next year.

Within the past couple years, several actors were linked to the lead role in Relativity Media's remake of The Crow, which is based on the James O'Barr comic books of the same name. Bradley Cooper was attached to star at one point, with Channing Tatum, Mark Wahlberg and James McAvoy being considered to replace him. Recently, we heard that Tom Hiddleston and Alexander Skarsgard were looked at, but now we finally have an actor for Eric Draven. According to Deadline, Welsh actor Luke Evans (who will soon be seen in Fast & Furious 6 and The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug) has been cast as The Crow. The actor currently has a busy schedule, having recently signed on to star in 2014's Dracula Year Zero, which makes this casting somewhat unexpected. In fact, filming was originally planned to commence this fall, but Evans' schedule forced production to begin early next year instead. F. Javier Gutierrez (Before The Fall) is directing. Brandon Lee originally played Eric Draven in the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed film. What do you think of Luke Evans as The Crow?

I agree with Intruder. The Crow is one film that should NEVER be remade. This is BS.

I don't support this being remade, because it's one of the movies that defined the 90's for me. It's a classic. That being said, if they insist on remaking it, I'm not upset by Evans being cast as Eric. I think he'll do fine, but I have no interest in seeing the remake.

Hmmm intresting choice. I've really only seen him in Immortals and he wasn't bad. Hopefully he can do the character justice, though at the same time this film should not be happening. It is a slap in the face to Brandon Lee. But it does have a chance to be great. We all shall see.

it is an interesting choice but they should change the origin so it wont rip off the original. this one should be more on the comic book origin

I actually like this casting. He is also my personal favorite to take over as Batman or Iron Man if RDJ moves on.

Well, count this as another movie that I could care less about as of right now. Could change my mind but damn it's hard to get excited about another great movie getting remade.

I heard they're going to remake the godfather movies too. What a shame....

As long as its COMPLETELY different, I'm on board, but if its simply a remake, then Id be strongly against it. The bluray holds up, and the effects are really impressive for being 20 years old.

I don't know if I have ever seen any of this guy's movies but he has the look down. I still think Cillian Murphy would be perfect as the Crow. Ian Somerhalder would also be good.

After Evil Dead 2013 i have a little bit more faith in remakes... but nah, not enough to ask for a remake of The Crow.
