Zack Snyder Meeting With Frank Miller To Discuss BATMAN/SUPERMAN Movie

Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns is said to be "informing" the storyline for the planned Batman/Superman movie, and now the comic book writer/artist is said to be meeting with director Zack Snyder soon to discuss the highly anticipated follow-up to Man Of Steel.

Fans were through the roof with excitement when it was revealed a couple weeks ago at San Diego Comic-Con that the Man Of Steel sequel/follow-up will in fact be a Batman/Superman film (rumored to be titled Batman Vs. Superman). Included in the announcement was a quote from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns (which director Zack Snyder said will "inform" the movie's storyline) read by actor Harry Lennix. It turns out that the acclaimed comic book writer and artist wasn't aware of the announcement beforehand, and was surprised to hear it. Independent reports that Miller will be meeting with Snyder soon to discuss the project, and a source of the author tells the site, "Frank had no idea the announcement in San Diego was going to happen so it did come as a surprise. He’s going to be meeting up with Zack in the next few days to go over the plans for the Superman film so things should be clearer after that." What do you think of this news?

Set to begin filming early next year (reportedly in Toronto) for a Summer 2015 release, Warner Bros.' untitled Batman/Superman movie currently stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new cinematic take on Batman has yet to be cast. Zack Snyder is directing from a script by David S. Goyer.

Look Zack man, I [frick]ing trust you.

I really do. I would trust you directing whatever CBM it is. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Hulk. I know visually it would look amazing. I also love you are a comic book fan.

All I want is one favor, MEET WITH BRUCE TIMM!!!!

Frank Miller is the worse person to go see when your doing a Superman film.

Talk to either Bruce Timm or Paul Dini or Greg Pak or Scott Snyder or Geoff Johns or Waid or hell even Morrison.

STAY THE [frick] AWAY FROM MILLER!!!!

YOUR KILLING ME MAN!!!

ASKING MILLER FOR ADVICE ON A SUPERMAN FILM IS LIKE ASKING DAN SLOTT ADVICE FOR A SPIDER-MAN FILM!!!

Both Zack Snyder and David Goyer has done work before with Bruce Timm.

Bruce Timm and Zack are currently doing a Superman animated short and Goyer wrote some of Batman: Gotham Knight and Bruce Timm was the chief director and producer for that film.

Hell Nolan's wife, Emma Thomas, has worked with Timm because she was a producer Batman: Gotham Knight and she's a producer for Batman/Superman.

I love Frank too Zack. His and Chris's Japan Saga are my favorite Wolverine book. I love his Batman Year One. Love his Daredevil work. The Dark Knight Returns is my favorite comic book ever but he isn't fit for this project.

Um SludgeTroll, wasn't a major complain for the Green Lantern film was too much Earth and too little Space?

How is adding Flash going to help that?

They'll get better advice from that guy who's always muttering to himself about the mushroom people while he roots through the dumpster for day-old bagels.

Unless that IS Frank. I try to avoid looking him in the face.

I used to like Miller and his writing the man is a legend, but since he started writing sin city it seems he has been stuck in that sin city mind set. I mean just look at The Dark Knight Strikes Again it is a completely different story from The Dark Knight Returns. He is the wrong person to be getting any advice on for this movie because even though he was the writer of one of greatest comic books of all times his recent work shows just how much his skills have dwindled over the past few years. So like Levitikus I say go to the people responsible for the DCAU series because not only do they know their stuff but they have never failed in telling a good story for the characters of DC.

Oh no...

Wasn't Man of Steel dark enough? I loved The Dark Knight Returns, but there is no way, Kryptonite or no Kryptonite, that Batman would beat Superman in a fight.

I was hoping Man of Steel 2 would have more classic Superman elements. But with Miller involved, that hope is pretty much lost.

The flashbacks to All-Star Batman & Robin are beginning... guess WB has decided to completely throw Supes under the bus...

The Dark Knight Trilogy was already pretty much built on the tone set in Batman: Year One.

And with the realism Nolan/Goyer/Snyder were going for with MOS, it looks like Batman will be tonally the same as in TDK trilogy.

We had Miller's Batman as an influence for Burton's films and Nolan's.

Use Loeb.
