Disney Furious Over "Ho White" Beer Campaign

The owner of Marvel Comics is not very pleased with the way its characters' likenesses are being used to sell Jamieson's Raspberry Ale.

In an effort to convince hard-nosed Australians that its new Raspberry Ale is "anything but sweet," Jamieson's is promoting the new beer with an ad campaign featuring "Ho White" and her seven "filthy" dwarves, an obvious take-off of Marvel Comics-owner Disney's classic Snow White characters.

Apparently, Disney is aware of the campaign and reps for Jamieson have confirmed that they have had "a little bit of contact" with the House of Mouse. It's unclear whether the beers will be recalled and relabeled, but the artwork has already disappeared from the Jamieson website.

God, they had to know they were going to get into trouble over this. They probably just did it for the publicity, which they are obviously getting.

Kittenkiller, I don't think the problem is in Jamieson's use of Snow White and the dwarfs themselves; it is in the likeness of Snow White that Disney created in their film that's the problem.

Shibazz- That's funy its my birthday too. As well as my friends, two cousins, and three older friends including one of my ex's. Damn, there seems to be a lot of Libras going around ;)

Luffi- In my experience, there are two types of anime fains: There are the normal, well-adjusted fans like myself who pursue it as a hobby, and there are the obsessive ones whose love for the genre has over-ridden their higher-thought process, melding into their psyche's and 'becoming' them. They live and breath anime, which is fine, execept it tends to freak people out and make the rest of us look bad. Please, chill out with these random videos. You are definatly turning more people away with them then converting future enthusiasts. And your also propogating the growing myth that all anime fans are ill-adjusted weirdos. Please, man. Stop. We have a hard enough time to getting people to consider it a legetimate genre without hardcore fans freaking others out.

@RoR-01: Thanks Irish! honestly i have to say as lame as this B day has been.... i am totally enjoying myself. I do not love carnage for carnals sake ... but i can appreciate the movement from one place to another.... maybe that is why my father gave me the middle name "Running Stream" my father was born and now i exist! LIBRA! I will post my horoscope tomorrow as it is my official B Day! Tonight i am eating a Papaya and Prawn salad over brown rice with fresh green onions as a topping and of course a glass of Chardonnay :) OH and i just finished gesso-ing 3 canvases . I think i will move to Lake Tahoe this winter for the SnowBoarding Season..... ahhhh the Tahoe 10.... thats what we call girls who put on weight after moving to Tahoe.
