No, sorry, this is not a film about the DC Comics character of the same name, even though this Black Lightning is a superhero movie...











If you were fortunate enough to watch either of Russian-Kazakh director Timur Bekmambetov's stylish vampire movies Day Watch or Night Watch, then you know what the Russians can do with with a modest film budget. Though Bekmambetov has made the move to Hollywood--he directed last year's smash hit Wanted and is currently working on Wanted 2--he is still keeping one foot in the Russian film industry. His latest production, Чёрная молния or Chernaya Molniya, translated as Black Lightning in English, was filmed for only $8M and has been described as the Russian answer to Batman and Transformers. It revolves around a Moscow University student who discovers that his used Volga is a lot more than it seems. Flying over Moscow, the student and his car become...Black Lightning!



Black Lightning is directed by Alexandr Voitinsky and Dmitriy Kiselev.

Teabag @ I can see your point, but for what budget they had they was very well done, a little messed up, but thats what their suppose to of been done like, very different than a lot of whats out there, i hear a third ones coming. Anyway will deff get BL movie if it comes out on DVD or BR!

is it just me or does luffy seem like a robot, it's not just the same lame anime clip but also the same lol cool comment every time.

anyway, this movie sounds weird, but hey...it's russian.

This movie looks a little strange, but has some nice visuals. Not sure how I feel about the premise.

A solo blacklightening movie would be an odd step for dc, but then again they are doing johna hex. maybe if they get a lot of little heroes done they'll have more faith in the big guys, like superman and the flash.

Dude that was a pretty good trailer granted it wasn't Mr Black Lightning either way looks like a pretty good movie with the limited budget the Russians have...

By the way did anyone see NIGHT WATCH ... OR DAY WATCH ....
